Susie, I remember the film “Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken.” What a sad movie! I think you’re right that that type of “horse-diving” show is exactly what the name implies.

I believe the Leaping Horse in the name actually refers to a stunt show that used to be featured in many shore towns of the time period. There would be a show girl on a horse and together they would climb to the top of a sort of diving board. they would then leap off into a pool of water below. Very dangerous and very exhilarating! It was called “Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken.” Which would also explain the picture of the girl on the horse that appear to be diving!
As a young girl of 11 when the movie came out, I found it so exciting and it really touched on the heart of the 1900 Atlantic Coast shore towns!
