Tangaroa Terrace – Casual Island Dining, and Trader Sam’s – Enchanted Tiki bar will open at the Disneyland Hotel on May 25, 2011!
Opening very soon in the Disneyland Hotel, Trader Sam’s plans to offer tropical bar fare. Menu items will include sweet and spicy Asian wings, chicken lettuce wraps, panko-crusted Chinese long beans with Sriracha mayo, tamarind-glazed pork shanks with green papaya slaw and ahi poke (sushi-grade tuna) with avocado, green onion and crispy wontons.
Did someone say Tiki Bar? Trader Sam’s – Enchanted Tiki Bar will quench your thirst with vintage island cocktails. Served in campy glasses, the Krakatoa Punch (reserve aged rum, light rum, tropical juice, almond syrup and hibiscus grenadine) will have you enjoying “island time” before you reach the bottom. Place an order for an Uh Oa! (just because it sounds fun ) and you’ll get an adult beverage with light rum, spiced rum, guava, orange, passion fruit, grapefruit, fresh lime juice and cinnamon!
The HippopotoMai Tai will be popular with guests who favor rum. The two shots of light and dark rums, orange curacao, almond syrup, organic agave nectar and lime juice will delight your senses!
For a less potent drink, ask the bartender for a Schweitzer Falls with tropical flavors (pineapple, guava, orange and passion fruit juices), all-spice syrup and finished with a splash of Sprite.
Located next to Trader Sam’s, visit this tropical oasis for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The ambiance is highlighted with tiki torches while island music sets the mood for island-style dining. At breakfast, if you can’t decide between the signature French toast with bacon topped with warm banana-caramel sauce or the grilled cinnamon-spice oatmeal with tropical fruit, then order both and share them with your dining partner!
On the lunch and dinner menu, the 1/3 pound Angus Hawaiian cheeseburger is finished with teriyaki sauce, bacon, grilled pineapple, Havarti, tomato and lettuce then completed with a multi-grain bun. You might want to ask for extra napkins with that order! For a healthy choice, guests can dine on an Asian chicken salad made of lettuce, cabbage, carrots, sweet peppers and cucumbers. For extra flavor, it’s topped with chicken, cashews and rice noodles all treated with a sesame vinaigrette. Or opt for the Kalua pork flatbread covered in pulled pork, barbecue sauce, red onion and fresh cilantro.
Still looking for a tempting entree? Each evening, Chefs will create a different “Island Plate Dinner”! Island temptations will include miso-crusted salmon, tamarind-glazed pork shanks and panko-crusted chicken. Each plate will be garnished with jasmine rice, panko-crusted long beans and green papaya slaw.
Got a FastPass burning a hole in your pocket? Selections from the “Grab ‘n Go” area will include yogurt parfait (tropical fruits and house-made granola mix-ins), tropical fruit plate, fresh pastries, sandwiches, veggies and dip, sweet potato cake (guava cream cheese icing), pineapple-lilikoi pie and a dessert flight.
The fun-to-share dessert flight includes a tasty trio of pineapple upside-down cake, layered passion fruit with pineapple-coconut creme and chocolate coffee cake. Can I place my order now?
Treat yourself to some island-time!
