The Hidden Laws of the Magic Kingdom

On a visit through Adventureland and Frontierland last month, I noticed that some of the local restaurants had rules I wasn’t even aware of… . Figured I’d share them here with you so that you can avoid finding yourself in a sticky bind in the future…

Should you find yourself wandering into Tortuga Tavern, remember the Code of Conduct below (be sure to click to enlarge — you’ll need to read it all), including “Every man has equal right to fresh provisions (iffin he has the gold),” and “A witness shall be present for gaming at cards or dice. (Short drop and sudden stop for cheatin’ scallywags.).”

And, of course, no monkeys.

Next door at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe there is a shorter list of rules, but they’re no less important (after all, this is the Code of the West). Methinks the last one is likely the most forgotten.

Ha ha! Have you seen these fun themeing elements in the restaurants? Are there others in the rest of the counter-service locations? Would love to hear what fun decor you’ve found on your Disney explorations! :-) Let us know in the comments below!

Those are great. I don’t remember seeing anything like this. If I do see signs like this I usually take a picture of them. This will give me an excuse to go through my pictures again to see if I have any. Like I need an excuse to look at my Disney pictures. :-)

While I haven’t noticed signs like these, I did notice a sign propped up on a shelf at one of the stores on Main Street in Disneyland. It listed old fashioned ailments people had, and tonics or such that cured them.

My favorite is “Ye witness must have one good eye”.

I didn’t have any pictures of signs like these. I do have one on the door to the kitchen at 50′s Prime Time “Please stay out of mom’s kitchen” and one from a closed exhibit at Animal Kingdom “Out Foraging”.

I don’t remember seeing any others. Disney has soo many of these fun signs and messages through out the park, it is very hard to remember a lot of them. I’ll keep an eye out on our next visit in a couple months.

Also, I added your blog to my blogroll. I hope you don’t mind but I really enjoyed your site so I was hoping to share it with others.

John — Thanks! Let us know if you see any more fun signs!

    JoeyV — Hmm… very good sign! ;-)
