The candy kitchen windows are one of my favorite places to hang out. On every single Disney trip, whether it be to Disney California Adventure, Disneyland, or even just a stroll through Downtown Disney passing by Marceline’s I HAVE to peek in the window and see what the candy makers are up to.
On a recent trip to Disneyland, I passed by Candy Palace on Main Street and noticed some adorable candy makers having way too much fun making English Toffee.
Making English Toffee
The process is a three person job. It all starts with a little rectangular piece of toffee.
Next, it’s dipped in to a bath of melted milk chocolate.
After it has a perfect coating of milk chocolate, the toffee is rolled in chopped almonds.
And for the grand finale, 12 ounces of English Toffee are
packaged up so that they can make their way to the Candy Palace shelves for people to snatch up.
Because these ladies were having so much fun, I had to take a video!
Their antics made me wonder two things:
1. What song were they listenting to?
2. How on Earth can I get that job?
It also prompted an immediate purchase of a bag of freshly made English Toffee which, GASP, I had never bought before.
English Toffee comes in a 12 ounce package on a plastic tray wrapped in a clear bag for $11.99. No, it is not cheap. But the portion is very generous and there is no skipping on the chocolate or nuts.
I actually took mine home and waited until the next day to dig into it. The toffee is buttery and not to hard. It does not get stuck in your teeth and it is not too thick, making it easy to take a bite.
The milk chocolate covering is the perfect chocolatey accompaniment, and there are more almonds than you’ll know what to do with.
This is such a favorite of ours that it was ranked as one of our Top 5 Chocolate-Covered Disney Snacks in Disney World, and I’m sure we’d do the same with the Disneyland version!
English Toffee from the Disney Resort is one of my new (to me) favorite treats. I am actually quite mad at myself that it took me this long to buy a package. Thanks to the adorable Cast Member for making this fabulous purchase entertaining AND tasty! I say at your next Disney Parks visit, make this treat a part of your life. You won’t regret it.
English Toffee is available at several locations throughout the resort. You can find it a Candy Palace & Pooh Corner in Disneyland, Marceline’s in Downtown Disney, as well as Trolley Treats in Disney California Adventure. In Disney World, find it at the Main Street Confectionery and at other candy counters.
