Disney Food Blog author Wendy Pugh-Hummel returns with a review from the newly-updated Fountain View Cafe – the newest Starbucks location in Epcot’s Future World.
Last week I popped over to Epcot to do a first look at the brand new Starbucks spot in Epcot!
This ice cream shop turned coffee stop continues to feature futuristic decor befitting Future World, but now the menu has changed significantly!
Today, we’re taking an up-close look at two snacks — the Guava Pocket and the Peanut Butter Brownie from this new Starbucks location!
Yup! Fountain View is now your Starbucks stop at Epcot!
So if a Venti Dark Roast and Cake Pops are part of your weekly (or daily!) dining, you don’t have to abandon those treats during your vacation.
You can stroll in to grab your favorites and enjoy the outside view…
Just don’t forget to take a closer look at the inside view first… check out the completely cool and unique “Bubble Wall” behind the ordering counter (yep, that’s its name)!
But that’s not all that’s changed about the venue! Let’s take a look at a couple of new edibles added to the list… .
First, you may be interested in learning about a Disney-specific gem. If so, then allow me to introduce you to the Guava Pocket.
Not only is the Guava Pocket Disney-specific, it is also unique to Fountain View. You won’t find this treasure at the Main Street Bakery or anywhere else in Disney World at the moment.
The Guava Pocket turned out to be apleasant little surprise! The flaky pastry crust is buttery and delicious, and the saltiness of the butter is balanced out with a dusting of powdered sugar. The bright, fruity guava puree center is packed with flavor, and also delivers a bit of tartness to round out the full range of tastes.
If you’re looking for something to tide you over until your next meal, don’t expect this to fill you up. While its lightness is part of what makes it enjoyable, this choice is best suited as a small, sweet indulgence to go along with your morning (or afternoon) caffeine fix.
We also sampled the Peanut Butter Brownie ($2.39 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit) on our stop. Oh, my… peanut butter fans, this is a MUST for you!
Absolutely packed with peanut butter, this brownie also offers a little crunch thanks to all the walnuts and peanuts in the mix. Again, a few dashes of powdered sugar on the top provide a touch of sweetness… and the sprinkling of chocolate chips doesn’t hurt, either .
The picture above doesn’t show the full portion size (you can see it a bit better in the photo of the bakery case). This brownie had already been split for sharing. You may not want to share yours. I sure wouldn’t judge you .
I was so excited to try these treats, can you guess what I forgot to grab?
Ah, well! There’s always next time!
