I have to say, I LOVE my Earl of Sandwich email updates. And when I got this one, my family and I headed over for dinner that very night!
These items are currently available in Disney World AND Disneyland, and I’m happy to say that I was able to try out all 4 items and I’m here to report back!
I ordered the BBQ Chicken Sandwich on white bread and thought it was delicious. I almost never ever stray from my favorite, the Holiday Turkey. While this is on the menu though, I might just have to switch back and forth on alternating visits.
The sandwich is full of chicken smothered in sweet BBQ sauce. It also has red onions, which were not at all overpowering. I normally ask for no or “easy” onions, but I totally forgot when I ordered, and the amount on the sandwich didn’t bother me at all.
Topped with cheddar cheese and a sprinkle of cilantro, I’d love it if this sandwich made its way permanently to the menu.
My husband went with the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. After trying mine, we both realized that the BBQ Chicken was the best choice. The Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich featured thinly sliced steak pieces, green bell peppers, and provolone. It wasn’t in any way bad, but neither of us were wowed by the flavors here.
My husband likes his Philly served with Wiz, so I suggested a quick fix. Top that sucker with some mac n’ cheese! That’s what he did, and well, it spruced it up quite a bit.
Next up, the Bacon Mac n’ Cheese. This was a real crowd pleaser. We all enjoyed it, the macaroni was cooked perfectly and the cheese was not too greasy the way some artisan mac n’ cheese dishes are. I also loved that it’s finished off in the oven so that the top layer is browned.
The only problem? NOT ENOUGH BACON. We thought it should be called Man n’ Cheese topped with Bacon. Although delicious, it really was just a sprinkle. The bacon was cooked to crispy perfection, but had there been more to mix in, it would have been totally outstanding.
When I saw the baggies of Brownie Brittle, I immediately thought, “Hey, I’ve had that before!” (Don’t worry, I’ll tell you where in a second!)
With the texture of a crispy cookie and the taste of a chocolatey brownie, Brownie Brittle is WAY too easy to eat. Because it’s crunchy and thin, a whole pack can be devoured like you’ve just eaten a small bag of chips. Yep. It’s that good.
If you don’t have an Earl of Sandwich nearby, guess what? You can still have Brownie Brittle!!! Yep! I bought a bag at Costco a while back (I also saw it in the store today); and for $6.99, you get a ton. Well, really it’s just a pound, but hey it’s a lot of brittle for your buck! Sheila G’s is just as good as Earl’s.
I think that all of these menu items are a great addition to the Earl family. I’m also thinking that even after the Bacon Mac n’ Cheese is gone, it might be a good idea to order a side of bacon with your mac n’ cheese and keep this tasty dish going. I’d also LOVE for the BBQ Chicken Sandwich to be added to the menu permanently. It’s really fantastic!
Have you tried any of the new limited time menu items at Earl of Sandwich yet? Do you have a new favorite???
