It’s a good, good day — it’s a Mac and Cheese day!!!
We’re heading back to the new menu at Friar’s Nook in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom to pick up another of the debut mac and cheese goodies.
When Kim was there before, she and her fam shared the Bacon Cheeseburger Macaroni and Cheese! YUM!!
Recently, Disney Food Blog columnist Erin Foster put another new dish to the test.
Atmosphere
In Fantasyland, Friar’s Nook is a small counter-service location offering an interesting selection of eats. Known for keeping odd hours, check your Times Guide to see if Friar’s Nook is open on the day of your visit.
There’s not a lot of seating here, and what’s there is all uncovered and open to the elements; so on a busy day (or a super hot or super cold day) you may want to take your food to the nearby Pinocchio Village Haus.
Eats
With the addition of new mac and cheese options, the menu has been refreshed once again.
Erin compared the Blue Cheese and Bacon Cheeseburger versions. Which one does she highly recommend? Let’s find
out:
“I LOVE blue cheese. And this stuff tasted GREAT. The blend of mild mac plus pungent blue plus the acidic balsamic vinegar was perfectly balanced. And the chives gave a nice little crunch.
But I have to say that I was overwhelmed after about four bites. It was just too rich, which is really saying something because I’ll eat anything.
I thought the salady part of the cheeseburger version added more lightness and made it easier to consume more. I’d get the cheeseburger one again to eat myself, but I’d only get the blue cheese version if I were sharing with someone.”
Overall
A stop at Friar’s Nook is convenient when touring Fantasyland, although there is very limited outdoor seating. Still, the always-fresh menu makes this a great option for guests looking for a unique and shareable snack or meal.

That.. Looks… Amazing!

Wow! Even the regular mac-n-cheesy at $6 is the best meal bargain at WDW. (Better not say that too loud.)

Thanks for your review!
Just a suggestion when posting photos of menus: please don’t crop off the “snack credit” symbols! Which-items-are-available-for-a-snack-credit is an important piece of information to some.

We tried the blue cheese one last week. We shared it and while we liked it, my husband and I agreed the greens did nothing for the flavor. I think ours had arugula instead of chives though, so maybe that’s why? Definitely a different flavor profile for Mac and cheese. Definitely a must share item.

Are they still making fresh potato chips here?
Missy says
No, sorry. No more fresh made chips. Those were omitted with the menu revision.
