Epcot Food and Wine Festival Tip: Make Your Own Custom DFB Food and Wine Fest Tray!

If you’ve visited the Epcot Food and Wine Festival before, then you know what a hassle it can be to get from Marketplace Booth to a Table (or Trash Can Top or Bench or Wall) without spilling your dishes and drinks.

That’s why one of my best tips for you is to bring your own tray to make the journey easier!

Yep — we know they sell these little jobbies…

But to be honest, that’s just not enough real estate when you’re sampling more than one dish…plus drinks.

Any tray will do, of course. But why not take the opportunity to show your team spirit with a Disney Food Blog Customized Food and Wine Festival Tray?

  1. Kelsey says

Just bought one!! We’ve been using a tray for years (FWF pros, November 2016 will be year 4!), however, it is black and boring (probably found it for $1 on Amazon), and this will make it so much happier, thanks, DFB!

  2. Mark says

Trash can top says it all. The demos with real culturally and real plates are so much more enjoyable. To say noting of the total ripoff lobster roll last year :) Love the festival, but not the ripoffs.

  3. Megan says

I like the concept of having your own tray, but if you’re doing more in the parks that day than just sampling food, they’re sort of awkwardly large and cumbersome to have to carry around for long periods of time.

Someone needs to invent a foldable tray that can be easily tucked away into a small backpack.

  4. Beth W. says

Just bought two: one for hubby and one for me! We’re headed down in October for our 20th Anniversary, just the two of us! I’m sure that carrying trays with us is going to get annoying after a while, but hey…that’s what lockers are for, right? Can’t wait!

  5. Pamela says

I heard AJ give the tray tip on a podcast a couple of years ago, and it is one of the best tips I have ever gotten for any Disney trip! I tell people this all the time. The best tray option, in my opinion, is a $5 paper tray from Target. It is the “RE” brand, and can be found in the stationery section. It is super light and fits in a standard-size backpack when not in use.

  6. says

Beth W. — Woohoo! Thanks so much for representing Team DFB. We hope that you have an amazing time on this special getaway!

  7. Caryn says

We purchased one of the square bamboo Mickey tray/cheese board. More real estate than the official FWF tray, but smaller than a cafeteria tray. It fit perfectly in a backpack and worked beautifully.

  8. Carol says

We’ve got 2, we drilled a hole in two corners, with a small colorful piece of rope and a carbiner for each…..viola! Hooked to back pack on 2 sides so it travels even, easy reach, easy carry.

  9. Brad says

This will be my first year going to Epcot Food & Wine. How big of a tray would you recommend bringing with me?

  10. says

Brad — AJ likes a standard sized tray, like the size that you’d get at a fast-food restaurant. Have a GREAT time and let us know what your favorite dishes are!
