— where you go to a restaurant and are entertained by Disney characters visiting your table and signing autographs — are pretty much a Disney rite of passage for any disney fan.
So we’re super jazzed about the news that a new character breakfast is coming this spring to Trattoria al Forno on Disney World’s BoardWalk!
This new character breakfast is a “bon voyage” celebration with Disney royal couples from films including Tangled and The Little Mermaid. That’s right…it looks like Rapunzel and Flynn Rider are finally getting a character breakfast!!
As you enjoy breakfast you’ll be encouraged to “to share the tales of your own hopes and dreams” or maybe tell a tale about one of your great adventures. This new character meal is being touted as a “unique” offering by Disney, so we’re kind of excited to see what it’s all about!
And the location is great. Trattoria al Forno is within walking distance of Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so it’s a great place to start your day!
(Plus, they have this SUPER awesome waffle entree topped with sweet mascarpone cheese! Heaven!)
The Trattoria al Forno character breakfast is slated to begin this spring. We’re still waiting for details on Advance Dining Reservations and menu offerings. Stay tuned!
Are you excited about this new character breakfast? Let us know in the comments.

I’ll have to wait and check the menu, but the characters sure sound fun!

While it’s nice they’re getting their own character meal, I have to think that Trattoria al Forno doesn’t fit them thematically, or vice versa. It seems like a cheap ploy to drum up business for a restaurant with little care for “show” or thematic integrity.
Carolyn says
I agree with the other who commented about theme, they don’t make sense for the location. I’m also curious about how the menu will change.
Megan says
Seems totally unneeded when about a 5 minute walk away, the Beach Club already has a character breakfast.

I actually think these both go with the theme of the restaurant really well. Looking at the pictures of Trattoria Al Forno’s open kitchen, it looks a lot like some scenes from Prince Eric’s castle. While it’s not totally clear where The Little Mermaid takes place, the architecture of Eric’s castle looks a lot like the chateaus on the coast of Italy.
While the castle from Tangled is supposed to look like Mont St. Michel in France, I think the little bit we see of it in the movie just has a beautiful, European style, similar to this restaurant.
Maybe I’m biased because I like the idea of a Tangled character breakfast, but I thought the beautiful, upscale, European theming of the restaurant kind of made sense for these characters.

Very Excited!!! Praying we can get reservations for our trip in May.

It doesn’t matter to me the location. Just glad Raphael will be available for a character breakfast. She is my daughter’s favorite and I’m sure the breakfast will be fabulous. Praying we can get a reservation when it comes available.
Diana says
We want to go. This is my daughter senior trip and Rapunzel is her favorite. How do I make a reservation
Brooke says
Diana — Visit disneyworld.com, and search for Trattoria al Forno. You should be able to make an advance dining reservation. You can also call 407-WDW-DINE to speak with a cast member who can help you.
Julie says
i have a breakfast reservation already will I need to change it for character experience or am I good
Brooke says
Julie — I would recommend that you give 407 WDW DINE a call to confirm. If your Advance Dining Reservation is for a date after April 2nd, I’d would think you’d be set, but the new breakfast is a prix fixe format, so that might impact you. Give a call just to be safe.
