News and Review: New Matterhorn Macaroon Donut at Disneyland!

Just when you thought the Matterhorn Macaroon couldn’t get any cooler (Get it? There’s faux snow on top!), it did. Because donut.

And thanks to our Disneyland go-to gal Heather Sievers (aka @DiningInDisney), we’ve got the scoop on this massive treat. The Matterhorn Macaroon Donut is available at the coffee cart in the hub near the entrance to Fantasy Faire. So it’s super convenient to grab along with your morning java (plus they have a bevy of yummy donuts all the time).

But how, you may ask, did the kooky sweet-treat-designers craft a Matterhorn Macaroon Donut?

Review: Breakfast at Rancho del Zocalo in Disneyland’s Frontierland

It’s time for breakfast in Disneyland — Rancho del Zocalo style!

This beautiful restaurant — and I mean seriously, it’s gorgeous — is situated in Frontierland, where all things rough and rowdy reign supreme. But step into this colorful corner, and you’re surrounded by cheerful warmth and bright colors. And let’s not forget the food!

Rancho del Zocalo has taken on added significance though in the last year. The spot is now home to a significantly traditional breakfast favorite — the Mickey Pancake. [Read more…]

Review: Stage Door Cafe Classics in Disneyland’s Frontierland

Howdy, pard’ners! We’re traveling back to Disneyland’s Frontierland for a trifecta of favorites at the Stage Door Cafe!

Stage Door Cafe sign

Seriously, this simple little spot holds more Disneyland food legends than you can shake a stick at. It’s pretty much a must-visit every time I’m in Disneyland. (I say that a lot, don’t I? ;-D) Let’s take a quick look around.

Atmosphere

And I do mean quick, because Stage Door Cafe is a pretty darn tiny counter service spot tucked around the corner from The Golden Horseshoe. Still, it’s got some cool old-timey details outside, like wrought iron on the doors and lanterns overhead. [Read more…]

Review: Pacific Wharf Cafe in Disney California Adventure

During my recent visit to Disneyland, I decided it was time to check in once more with one of my favorite counter service spots, Pacific Wharf Cafe in Disney California Adventure.

The restaurant is located on Pacific Wharf (natch), and features a San Francisco signature item — Boudin Bakery’s famous Sourdough Bread – made in the bakery next door!

I really love the food here, and I’m especially partial to their hearty Soups served in Boudin Sourdough Bread Bowls.

On this visit, I figured it was time to introduce you to a few new flavors, though. So come with us as we explore some of Pacific Wharf’s other must-have menu items!

Atmosphere

If you’ve spent any time on Cannery Row in Monterey, then Pacific Wharf Cafe will look familiar to you in terms of style. The restaurant is actually owned and operated by San Fran’s Boudin Bakery, a landmark of the city, dating back to 1849.

If you’d like to know more about the bread making process or the history of Boudin Bakery, be sure to take The Bakery Tour, which you’ll find just next door. (Yep — that bread baking smell isn’t piped in! They really really really bake fresh bread for the parks here every day!!! SO GOOD!)

Wall Decor

Inside, the counter service stop is fairly straightforward in design. Warm wood paneling covers the walls, and exposed duct work echoes the industrial feel of the space. [Read more…]
