Review: Fried Pickles at Intermission Food Court at Disney World’s All-Star Music

Welcome back to Intermission Food Court!

Located in All Star Music Resort, Intermission Food Court shares a lot in common with its fellow All Star Food Courts: End Zone and World Premiere in All Star Sports and All Star Movies, respectively.

You’ll find lots of Counter Service classics like burgers, chicken nuggets, pizzas, hot dogs, and the like. And while you can find menu items unique to each spot and plenty of good grub (remember those super fun milkshakes we talked about earlier this summer?), things can start to feel a bit same ol’, same ol’ every so often.

Which is why it was a fun surprise to find a new savory snack at Intermission! I mean, what about those moments when you’re kinda over French Fries and chips? Enter: Fried Pickleswhen you can find them, that is (more on that later).

News! 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Menu UPDATES and CHANGES, Plus New FOOD PICS

There is just never a dull moment when it comes to bringing you the latest 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival news. :-D

Food and Wine Festival Updates 2016 Info Graphic Square

Today, we’ve learned that there have been major updates to three of the festival’s Marketplace Booth Menus.

If you’re not familiar with the way that the festival works, the Marketplace Booths are the small kiosks that serve the special food and drink items throughout Epcot during the festival.

For many folks, these booths ARE the festival — and in 2017, you’ll be able to make stops at 35 booths total, to mark the 35th anniversary of Epcot.

So, what’s changing? Let’s take a closer look. And then check out some new FOOD PHOTOS that we’re also sharing!

One of the festival’s most popular booths, Mexico has rolled out an entirely updated beverage menu.

Review: Skagway Sweets Tour, Disney Cruise Line in Alaska

We have something extra special for you today — a little peek into my Alaskan Cruise aboard the Disney Wonder!

The Disney Wonder in Port at Skagway

The Disney Wonder in Port at Skagway

My family and I booked a multigenerational family trip to Alaska on the Disney Wonder last summer (one of my dad’s bucket list items). And I couldn’t resist the chance to share some of what I found.

A Disney Cruise is an amazing experience. The service, ports, and accommodations are simply unparalleled IMO. PLUS — there’s a hefty dose of Disney magic, which always makes an adventure just a little brighter.

If you haven’t had the chance to go, then I hope you do sometime soon! Find out more about them by ordering the free Disney Cruise Line video. I get one whenever they have them available.

But there’s more to cruising than just bein’ on the boat. And when we were in port in Skagway, Alaska, I took a few hours to tour the tiny city in search of goodies! And I found PLENTY!

Yummy treats in Skagway!

I hope you’re hungry. If you’re not, you probably will be very soon! [Read more…]

Review: Churro Cotton Candy (with a Churro!) in Downtown Disney at Disneyland

Heather Sievers, our Disneyland correspondent and the queen behind @DiningInDisney, knows how to have fun with Disney food. She’s hooking us up with Disney Frankenfoods, which are mash-ups between two (or more!) complementary Disney foods. Today we have one of her most recent food combos — a Churro Cotton Candy Churro!

Churro Cotton Candy is found in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney. You can find tubs of cotton candy in unique flavors like Strawberry Lemonade, Green Apple, and Pina Colada! These tubs are super convenient; it’s a lot easier to keep your cotton candy fresh throughout the day when it comes in a tub rather than a bag.

Heather went straight for the Churro Cotton Candy. But she also knew it wasn’t quite complete. Because what could go better with Churro Cotton Candy than an actual Churro? So she grabbed one of those, too. Wrap that cinnamon-sugar stick in the spiced spun sugar, and BA-DAH-BING!

You’ve got yourself a Churro Cotton Candy Churro! [Read more…]

Top Tips for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival

It’s nearly here: the Epcot Food and Wine Festival kicks off shortly and we are counting down the days!

2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Logo Disney

Before long, we’ll all be traipsing about Epcot, noshing on old favorites and new finds.

And with more marketplace booths joining the ranks every year, there is always something to be excited about.

But planning is key, especially as the festival continues to grow. And we’re here to help!

We’ve been around the festival block a time or two, ;-) so I’m happy to share with you some of Disney Food Blog’s Top Tips for making this the best Epcot Food and Wine Festival yet! Let’s dig in!

1. Know Before You Go

The Epcot Food and Wine Festival has become massive, both in terms of timeframe and offerings. Every year, it gets longer, and more booths are introduced. This pretty much guarantees that if you show up expecting to wing it, you’re gonna miss some stuff. So planning has gotta be your starting point.

Spend some time looking at the menus, and determine your must eat and must drink lists. Give special attention to this exercise if you have particular preferences or sensitivities as Disney labels items that are gluten free and vegetarian. (For all of this year’s gluten free offerings, check out our list of GF menu items here.)

Also, give some thought to where you might escape the heat for a bit. Craft Beers, located in The Odyssey, offers a nice respite from the sun. Besides, it’s a great place to grab a cold one. In World Showcase, duck into Mitsukoshi Department Store in Japan for a breather, or take in the Voices of Liberty for a break. [Read more…]

Review: Loaded Potato Puffs at The River Roost in Port Orleans Riverside Resort

Who’s up for a bit of pub grub at The River Roost?

I seriously love River Roost lounge. It’s located in one of my favorite Disney World Resorts: Port Orleans — Riverside. Better yet, it’s home to Yeeha Bob, an honest-to-goodness Disney World treasure. Bob Jackson is a recipient of the Walt Disney Legacy Award who shares his humor, fun, energy, and music with audiences at the River Roost four nights a week.

Oh! And I’ve enjoyed some pretty tasty food here, too. I loved the trio of Prime Rib Sliders that used to be on the menu here. But those were taken off the list some time back, and I’ve been looking for a River Roost replacement.

So if you, too, find yourself at Port Orleans in search of some Potables, Victuals…
