Review: Roule Lard et Fromage (Bacon and Cheese Roll) at Epcot’s Les Halles

You know, there are few better ways — especially while Soarin’ is undergoing refurb ;) — to start a day at Epcot than a visit to Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie in Epcot’s France Pavilion.

Even though we talk about Les Halles a lot here on the DFB (it’s one of our Favorite Epcot Restaurants, after all), it still comes as a surprise to lots of guests that you can indeed start your day at Epcot here.

Unique among World Showcase counter service eateries, Les Halles opens at 9:00 am, whereas the rest open along with World Showcase at 11:00AM daily. (Future World spots like Fountain View and Sunshine Seasons are the places you can find breakfast items upon Epcot’s typical 9:00AM opening).

Now, you may think it’s all sweet treats at Les Halles, and if you want to start your day with Mousse au Chocolat, a Napoleon, or even a coffee-infused Café Liégeois, then have at it — you’re on vacation!

Disneyland Food Hack: DIY Churro Sundae

We are back to bring you news of another delicious Disneyland Snack Hack!

A while ago, we shared how you can make a dreamy Dole Whip even more wonderful — just add Tajin Spice from Tropical Imports! But today, we’re going another direction entirely and bringing two of our favorite Disney treats together in the process.

Churro in Disneyland

Churro in Disneyland

Churros are a must on every Disneyland trip. But there’s nothing better than adding those warm, sweet fried treats to something cold and creamy. And that’s why we love making our very own Churro Sundae. Thanks to our Dining in Disneyland authority Heather for dreaming up this amazing treat! [Read more…]

Epcot Flower and Garden Recipe: Buttermilk Chocolate Cake with Caramel Sauce and Spiced Pecans

We’re back with another delicious taste from the 2016 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival!

Review: Corn Dog Nugget Meal Now Available at Casey’s Corner in Disney World

With the baseball season recently starting, there is no better place to get into the spirit of the season than Casey’s Corner in the Magic Kingdom!

Casey’s Corner is one of our favorite stops for a quick meal or a snack anytime of the day. And while we love their specialty hotdogs, I’ve always been a huge fan of their Corn Dog Nuggets as well. And I know there are many of you who are fans.

On a recent visit, we noticed a switch-up on the menu that we couldn’t wait to share.

Corn Dog Nugget Meal at Casey’s Corner

There’s plenty of good news to share here. Both the Chili-Cheese Hot Dog and the Barbecue Slaw Dog are still available. And now, they come in two versions — regular, or foot long!

Of course, you can also still get the Hot Dog Meal, which comes with a plain dog that you can top anyway you’d like from Casey’s Plastic Cheese-less fixings bar. (Yep. It’s still not back. Sigh.)

But what really caught my eye was the new Corn Dog Nugget Meal. Sweet.

Review: Chocolate Honey Baklava at Tangierine Cafe in Epcot’s Morocco Pavilion

Tangierine Cafe is one of Epcot’s World Showcase Counter Service classics thanks to delicious and authentic eats.

However, this beautiful Pavilion can be overlooked in regards to dining, even while showcasing great food in beautiful surroundings with Restaurant Marrakesh, Spice Road Table, and again, the spot we’re visiting today — Tangierine Cafe. It’s understandable, though, that when groups (especially families with little ones) travel together, the Pavilion offering possibly the most different flavors from what the majority of the group may be used to might be the easiest to pass.

Still, no matter what your or your traveling companions’ flavor preferences might be, I can think of few people who can argue against Baklava. Buttery and flaky puff pastry filled with honey and nuts (walnuts, cashews, or pistachios, while we’re at it), you’ll find a few varieties tucked into the pastry case located past the primary ordering counter at Tangierine Cafe.

You’ll have to go on a hunt because the pastries are located in a small alcove of sorts beyond the main ordering area. They’ll be on your left when facing the entree ordering stations. Your search will be rewarded with the view of a case full of items like Chocolate or Tangerine Rolls (or Roulades), Semolina Cookies and Almond Pastries alongside more standard muffins and cookies.
