The limited-time vessels are a mash-up Tiki-Haunted Mansion creation, and people are losing their minds over them. They’ve already sold out at both Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar in Disneyland (although they are expecting more on the West Coast around Halloween) and Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto in Walt Disney World. And with people waiting in line for hours to get theirs, it’s clear that Disney has struck gold here. [Read more…]

New Video! DFB Reviews AbracadaBar at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Woohoo — it’s Friday! Who’s ready for a little Happy Hour Fun?

I have just the thing for you. Check out the latest DFB Video that we’ve posted to our new YouTube Channel, featuring a review of the mystical, magical AbracadaBar at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.

The BoardWalk has needed a few grown up spots for the longest time. Don’t get me wrong. We love enjoying a classic cocktail like The Shadow at the BoardWalk’s Belle Vue Lounge as much as you do! But hey, it’s always fun to try new things. And AbracadaBar is one seriously cool place, so be sure to tune in to our video to see all the details!

And if you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe to our NEW DFB YouTube Channel, so you’ll always be the first to see our new videos!

So what do you think? Will AbracadaBar be on your list of places to visit during your next Disney trip? Leave a comment and let us know!

Details: Breakfast at Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

A few weeks ago, we shared some welcome news — Sanaa is testing a quickservice breakfast offering! We had so many comments and questions that we decided to head back there to get a few more details.

First up, we have to caution you: we could not get a definite answer about how long breakfast at Sanaa will stick around. For now, Cast Members continue to tell us that it’s in a “testing phase.” We did note, however, that breakfast had not been added to the Sanaa signs outside of the restaurant.

Sign — Still Not Updated with Breakfast Service

Basically, this is a makeshift breakfast situation. Nothing points to this being a permanent offering. But for now, here are your options for Grab and Go and Quick Service. And yes — they are accepting the Disney Dining Plan. A meal here will set you back one quick service meal credit. [Read more…]

Review: Fall Petit Cake and Mickey Pumpkin Cake from Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs

Amorette’s Patisserie has been open now for a few months, and on a recent trip to Walt Disney World — after a LOOOOOONG day in the parks — I thought it would be fun to head over to Disney Springs in the evening to enjoy a few (OK, a LOT) of desserts. ;-D

The upscale patisserie is quite unique. Whimsical cakes and pastries are handcrafted individually in the show kitchen, and THEY. ARE. BEAUTIFUL. It’s fascinating to stand by and watch as these edible works of art take shape. In addition to individual pastries and multi-serving cakes, Amorette’s also features what they call “Petit” cakes — just enough to serve two people. (Or, if you’re an AJ, one person.)

But you’ll pay a pretty penny for all of that beauty. On average, prices are definitely higher here than at Amorette’s closest competition, BoardWalk Bakery at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie at Epcot.

Today, we’re taking a closer look at one of Amorette’s Seasonal Offerings.

Amorette’s Fall Petit Cake

Amorette’s Petit Signature Cake was one of our favorites when we first reviewed the new spot in Disney Springs.

But since they opened last Spring, they’ve been also begun offering Petit Cakes in other flavors and designs. Every time we’ve visited, we’ve spied both the Petit Tea Cake and Petit Coffee Cake. [Read more…]
