Tortuga Tavern (formerly El Pirata y El Perico)

Note: El Pirata y El Perico has re-opened as Tortuga Tavern, a counter-service restaurant offering much the same menu, but with a vaguely Pirates theme.

Tortuga Tavern welcomes you to a quaint Caribbean village, where Mexican food is arrrgghh-uably the star of this seasonal eatery.

Located across from the famous Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Adventureland, Tortuga Tavern is a seasonal (a.k.a. rarely open!) quick service restaurant open for lunch and dinner. When the restaurant is serving meals, Mexican food is featured. Dine in the covered open-air pavilion with large ceramic tiles and decor reminiscent of an old-world pirate’s favorite ‘pub serving grub.’ Vegetarian tacos and a children’s menu are available.

Important Info:

  • The Tortuga Tavern dining room shares space with the popular counter service restaurant Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. When it is open, the lines tend to be less busy there than at Pecos Bill’s.
  • This restaurant is located near some popular attractions; the Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain. It’s a good spot to plan a quick service meal around FastPass times for those attractions.

Famous Dishes: Taco salad (It’s a large salad filled to the brim with extras)
