If the Grand Floridian Resort is your cup of tea, you won’t want to miss the Garden View Tea Room‘s Afternoon Tea offerings!
Every day the resort serves a spread fit for the Queen with a beautiful garden view to match.
Sometimes, nothing but a nice cuppa will do.
And even when you’re on vacation (which is, of course, supposed to be all about relaxing), an escape into a soothing cup of tea can be a welcome change of pace.
And that’s true regardless of weather, don’t you think? After all, serious tea drinkers don’t mind raising a cup, even in Florida heat and humidity.
Are you looking to try something new or to celebrate the ritual of something familiar and comforting? Either way, we have suggestions for finding a really good cup of tea throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.
Come with us as we share some of our favorites.
Just like coffee, tea is finding a larger and more sophisticated fan base everyday. But whether you’re a lifelong lover of tea, or you’re just learning your way around it, Joffrey’s Tea Traders Cafe at Disney Springs is a welcome stop on your list of places to explore this storied beverage. When I first heard about the tea offering, I knew I wanted to try it out. Steakhouse 55 has always been one of my favorite Disneyland Resort restaurants. I especially love the atmosphere here, so I was really excited to have a new Steakhouse 55 experience. Breakfast at Steakhouse 55 is what I believe to be one of the very best breakfasts on property. Dinner is wonderful too, so I was sure afternoon tea would be a delight as well!
I tried to book immediately, but it was full almost a month out! So, I booked my month out and waited patiently. Checking in for tea is the same process as a meal. Just head on up to the podium and you will be escorted back to the dining room.
When the time came, I was joined by my best pal. We took the first reservation of the day, which was at noon, and when we got there it was basically empty. By the time we left, there was not one open table! [Read more…]

Speaking of baked goods, Flour and Sugar is a little kiosk that can be found on the newly opened Marketplace Causeway. It sells pre-packaged cookies inspired by various cities in the Sunshine State.
We tried the Siesta Key Key Lime S’more, and we’ll have a review here for you soon!

Are you looking forward to an Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian?
The Garden View Lounge at Disney’s Grand Floridian hosts Afternoon Tea each day with Advance Dining Reservation opportunities starting at 2:00 pm. I mention Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) because this has become quite a popular experience, so planning for your tea in advance is becoming more of a must.
In order to help you with your Afternoon Tea plans, we wanted let you know of some very recent changes to the Tea Packages available for purchase.
The previous menu featured packages ranging from $25 (the Buckingham Tea) to $45 (Princess Kate Tea), with the $13 “Mrs. Potts Tea” package for children ages 3-9. Packages on the new menu start at $30 and go up to a pretty penny for a big vacation splurge. Here’s the full rundown:
The Bedfordshire Tea includes finger sandwiches accompanied with berries, cheese, and lavosh; a buttery scone and jam tart; and a dessert course with the guest’s choice of pastries, strawberries and creme, or English trifle. And, of course, a pot of tea. The cost for this package is $30 per guest.
For a comparison to the previous menu, it closely resembles the former Buckingham Tea package which was $25, but with the addition of berries, cheese, and lavosh.
The Derbyshire Tea features all the [Read more…]
Today, we’re visiting the Garden View Lounge at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort as DFB guest author Julie B. takes us to afternoon tea.
Tucked in the back of the Grand Floridian lobby is the Garden View Lounge, offering a perfect afternoon tea.
This is the perfect option for a Mother/Daughter getaway or a relaxing solo escape.
This delightful little room is completely open to the lobby and also features huge windows to bask the entire room in afternoon light.
The icing on the cake to set the mood was beautiful piano music floating in from the lobby (especially the Disney songs!).
Of course, you may see a few familiar faces while you’re here!
This afternoon, we were at the Grand to sample the afternoon tea. There are endless possibilities on the menu. Diners can choose between many a la carte options and teas, or opt for a tea service and food accompaniment.
The two most popular choices are the Buckingham Palace or the Grand Tea (essentially the same as the Buckingham Palace service but also featuring a glass of sparkling wine).
We opted for the Buckingham Palace tea service, featuring our choice of tea, as well as tea sandwiches, scones and jam, and a choice of [Read more…]
