Your pals at the DFB are back with What’s New, and this week we’re back at Animal Kingdom and the All-Star Resorts! We’ve got menu changes (Satu’li!!), new merchandise, and a couple new activities to share. Let’s gooooooo!
You all know that my love of Sprinkles knows no bounds.
What may surprise you, though, is that this has just as much to do with the non-cupcake items as much as the famous Sprinkles Cupcakes. From Frosting Shots to Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches (have you SEEN my brownie, cookie, and Cap’n Crunch cereal ice cream creation?!?), there’s a LOT to dig once you step inside Sprinkles. But you’ve gotta bypass the Cupcake ATM for that… or just make a plan to stop by again later ;-D.
So today, I thought I’d share a little bit of both with you from my most recent trip to Sprinkles. So, we’ll check out some classic Sprinkles cupcakes (in a bit of a new way) AND a killer cookie. (Remember that you’ll find Sprinkles on both coasts — in Disney World’s Disney Springs, and in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney. Most menu items are found in both locations.)
Seriously, you can always find something to satisfy your sweet tooth. And with lots of still-new stuff at Disney Springs, you’ll want to be over there anyway. (Plus, the holidays in Disney Springs are sure to be a massive hit in 2017, with ten new additions to Christmas Tree Trail and Santa in his Chalet!!)
Let’s cover the cupcakes first. Because when you’re standing before the glorious case of perfectly coiffed cupcakes at Sprinkles and not sure you can pick just one, the Cupcake Minis are a fabulous option. At $2 each, you can mix and match and get three for just over the price of one full-size cupcake. That’s what I did. Because more cupcakes is always better.
There’s only a week left in October – how is that possible? That means you only have a few more weeks to get to the 2015 Epcot Food and Wine Festival! The Festival ends on November 16!
Halloween is almost over at Disney World and Disneyland, but there’s still time to get to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and enjoy all the sweet Halloween treats! But hurry because soon the gingerbread houses and holiday lights will be up!

The cupcake haven that is Disney’s Hollywood Studios is currently celebrating Halloween with an updated twist on an old favorite: the Carrot Cake Cupcake. It might not sound like a Halloween cupcake, but thanks to the jack-o-lantern on top (sporting MICKEY EARS, no less) it sure does look like one!
We’ve enjoyed our fair share of Carrot Cake Cupcakes at the Studios with the Olaf Carrot Cake Cupcake in and around the Frozen Summer Fun event over the past two summers. Spring is sprung (well, some places, anyway), and Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe in Disneyland has a few new menu items to check out!
And you don’t even have to wait until March 20, when the new season officially begins. Jolly Holiday is already sporting the updated menu! Let’s take a peek at some sweet and savory treats.
Mini bundt cakes are all the rage, and JH comes in with this adorable Strawberry Bundt Cake. A thick drizzle of Icing and a Glazed Strawberry are ideal Springtime garnishes.
The bakery’s seasonal Crème Brûlée will feature ripe Raspberries.
Next up, they’ve got a Carrot Cake Cupcake with piped Cream Cheese Frosting. Sadly, it looks teensy tiny to me, and has one of those weird wrappers they’ve been doing over at Be Our Guest Restaurant in Disney World. They’re practically impossible to take off, so it’s really tough to eat these kinds of ‘cakes on the go.

Honey Lemon Cupcake
The Honey Lemon Cupcake from Disneyland’s Hungry Bear restaurant has to be one of the cutest cupcakes I’ve seen at Disney to date. Topped with a sweet little honey bee and a sprinkle of edible gold glitter, you find the same delish frosting that crowns it also serves as a filling! You know how much we love the food at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge around here. All of the restaurants here — Whispering Canyon Cafe, Artist Point, and even Territory Lounge — offer incredible food in unique settings.
But despite my many trips to Roaring Fork, I just realized I’ve never put together a full review for you guys!
Located conveniently mere steps away from both the lobby of the hotel, as well as the pool area, Roaring Fork is a great place to grab a quick meal or snack on the go as you head out for a swim or to the parks.
Entering into Roaring Fork, you get that same Pacific Northwest Territory adventure vibe present all around Wilderness Lodge, with more of a hint of the rustic here.
It’s awesome how the signage around Wilderness Lodge has a sense of flow to it. You really do feel like you could go outside and hop into a white water raft, bound for some rapids!
There’s an abbreviated menu board located outside so you can tell at a glance if the selections here will appeal to you.

Every once in a while I get an idea for a particular post that I can’t wait to write, and this is one of those! CAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!! Cream cheese FROOOOOOOOOSSSSSSTINGGGGG!! (For those of you who are getting tired of my frosting obsession, my apologies. Sometimes a little too much of it can sneak its way into the blog.) Anyway, carrot cake is one of my favorite desserts — all those healthy carrots — it’s the perfect way to end a meal! Or begin a meal. Or have a meal…
So, I’ve been compiling data for this post for a long time, and I’m ready to share what I think are the best Disney options for carrot cake lovers like me! I hope you’ll share in the comments what your favorites are — and if I missed any, I’d love to know about it (more research is always good)!

Goofy’s Candy Company Carrot Cake Cookie
Goofy’s Candy Company is more often known for its make-your-own confectionery creations, but every once in a while you’ll find a hidden gem in the bakery case of this Downtown Disney mainstay. Plus, the wonderful staff here is more than enough draw to stop by and pick up a sugary treat.
I saw this Carrot Cake Cookie at Goofy’s and then saw it again at the Main Street Confectionery in the Magic Kingdom, so I think you can get this bad boy in several different locations from time to time (though they may not be there during your stay).
