Guest Review: Cross-Country Disney Day — Iconic Treats from Six Disney Parks in One Day

Wow!!! Guest author (and an awesome friend who always sends me the best photos of Disney food!) Lori Fries, takes us on a whirlwind, coast-to-coast tour of six parks in one day. Let’s see what food she sampled!

If you are like me, you love BOTH Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. I achieved my top item on my bucket-list and went to all 6 parks — four in Disney World and two in Disneyland — on the same day!

Six Parks, One Day Treats

Six Parks, One Day Treats

Picking one snack in each park brings with it a unique set of challenges. For the first time in modern memory, I didn’t want to go to a park and pick what I felt like eating at the time. Seasonal treats have always held a special place on my Must Do Disney Food List, but I wanted to go with iconic treats.

There is an entirely different set of things I love to eat on both coasts. I could go to Epcot and fill my stomach around World Showcase. My trip was even during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival! That is a different challenge.

Would I pick things only served on a stick to make an easy getaway to the next destination? Nope. That would rule out some classics like the Mickey pretzel.

Here is what I did. My first stop was Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar
To me, vanilla ice cream covered in chocolate in the shape of Mickey Mouse’s silhouette screams Disney snack at its finest.
You can find them at ice cream carts and restaurants throughout the parks in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Not only can you get them from all the parks but all the resorts as well. I also knew that the carts are opened before the official park opening.

Disneyland Food Hack: DIY Churro Sundae

We are back to bring you news of another delicious Disneyland Snack Hack!

A while ago, we shared how you can make a dreamy Dole Whip even more wonderful — just add Tajin Spice from Tropical Imports! But today, we’re going another direction entirely and bringing two of our favorite Disney treats together in the process.

Churros are a must on every Disneyland trip. But there’s nothing better than adding those warm, sweet fried treats to something cold and creamy. And that’s why we love making our very own Churro Sundae. Thanks to our Dining in Disneyland authority Heather for dreaming up this amazing treat! [Read more…]

Dining in Disneyland: Churro Funnel Cake from Hungry Bear Restaurant

Dining in Disneyland Review: CHURRO ICE CREAM SANDWICH with Bonus Oreo Churro!

A few weeks ago, as I walked through Downtown Disney, a little something caught my eye: This sign.

Plastic Churro Ice Cream Sandwich Display

Even though these horrible plastic renditions look like, well, something your dog might leave you as a present, I knew that I had to get a churro ice cream sandwich ASAP.  I immediately posted this photo on Instagram and people went bananas. Literally one of the most liked and commented on photos ever.  So, I quickly put “Eat a Churro Ice Cream Sandwich” on the top of my to do list and came back a week later to check out the real deal.

Located in the heart of Downtown Disney, Anaheim, the California Churro Company cart now has one of what I’m going to predict as the most popular snacks at the Disneyland Resort.

Although I LOVE the churros from inside the parks, the churros offered here are unique because of the flavors that are available.  All flavors are added to their churros via the sugar sprinkle mix they are rolled in upon ordering (in other words, no filling on the inside).  I’ve tried a few of them and trust me, they are heavenly!  Pina Colada tastes a bit like a Dole WhipPumpkin Spice is amazing, and so is the Salted Caramel.  Flavored churros are $4.00.

But let’s get to the REAL reason why were here.  The CHURRO ICE CREAM SANDWICH.

Facebook Friend Ted shared his thoughts on a Waffle Chicken Sandwich being tested at Disneyland: “Was lucky enough to be at Dland when they tested a waffle chicken sandwich with Sriracha mayo. SHOULD’VE been yummy. I ignored everyone’s complaints of it being too sweet, but I’m a sugar addict. Both waffles were coated (I mean coated!) in sugar. What could’ve been a savory delight was a sugar disaster. Bummed!!! I had to wait three hours before the cookie sounded good. Hope they take it back to the drawing board and re-release it!”

And check this out!!! We were honored to have a proposal at our October 2nd DFB Snack Attack IllumiNations Dessert Party, and… she said YES!! Congratulations to the happy couple! It was so great to meet you guys! Check out Meghan’s bling:
