AHOY THERE MATEYS! Are you ready to set sail on the Seven Seas Lagoon on the hunt for treasure?! (Er, fireworks.)
When the Happily Ever After fireworks show in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World replaced Wishes just over a year ago, the responses were all over the map. Some were deeply saddened; others were ready for a change. But one thing was for sure: there would be fireworks.
Lots and lots of fireworks. 😉
A new Fireworks experience is coming to Magic Kingdom… but this one is a bit different from the popular Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party. Because this one is the AFTER Fireworks Dessert Party!
Starting May 28, 2018, guests at the After Fireworks Dessert Party will enjoy a reserved viewing area in the Plaza Garden for the Happily Ever After Fireworks spectacular. And AFTER? That’s when guests will head on over to Tommorrowland Terrace Restaurant and take part in an all-you-care-to-enjoy dessert buffet!
These days, if there’s a Nighttime Spectacular at a Disney World park, there’s bound to be a Dessert Party to go with it! These extra-ticket events have become a popular splurge option for guests who want some sweets to go along with the fabulous nighttime shows (not to mention the ease of reserving a prime viewing spot without waiting an hour before the fireworks begin).
Recently I reviewed the Happily Ever After Dessert Party at Magic Kingdom; but the Frozen Ever After Dessert Party kicked off in Epcot in July, so I wanted to get in on that action to relax and unwind after my VERY full day covering the Best of the Fest at the 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival.
‘Cuz that’s how I roll. Check it out with me!
You may recall that for the past few years, guests could reserve the Sparkling IllumiNations Dessert Party, which also featured a dessert buffet and a reserved area for IllumiNations viewing.
But in July, Epcot replaced the Sparkling Party with the current Frozen theme. Now, look: we know some of you are completely Frozen-ed out. We hear you. But your kid may not be just yet. And this new party includes one neat perk. It still features plenty of desserts, and it still offers a great view of the show. But now, an after-hours ride on Frozen Ever After is included once the smoke clears from IllumiNations! [Read more…]
If you’re spending New Year’s DAY in Disney California Adventure, there also will be a very interesting way to spend New Year’s NIGHT. An extra-ticket Dessert Buffet event will be held and you just may want to drop in…
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – 13th Hour will take place for one night only on Sunday, January 1st. Starting at 10:00 pm, guests will enjoy a dessert buffet and live music while having access to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in its original form before the attraction is transformed into “Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout.” The party will last until 1:00 am on January 2nd (which is the attraction’s final day of operation). This past March, the Disneyland Resort introduced the World of Color Dessert Party. My family and I had the pleasure of attending recently, and what a special treat it was! I’m always up for a Disney Dessert Party. I’ve done the Fanstasmic Dessert Party at Disneyland (currently on hiatus due to construction) and also a handful of different dessert parties at Walt Disney World.
I’m excited to say that the World of Color Dessert Party both met and exceeded my expectations! The dessert party starts one hour prior to World of Color show time. Reservations must be made in advance either online or by calling Disney Dining; the dessert parties are nightly.
Looking for a new way to enjoy the Wishes Nighttime Fireworks Spectacular at the Magic Kingdom? Well, here’s a new option for you… how about by boarding a Magic Kingdom Ferryboat to see the show right from the Seven Seas Lagoon?
The brand new Ferrytale Wishes Dessert and Fireworks Cruise will set sail on select nights beginning October 5, 2015, and will feature plenty of treats to cap off your Magic Kingdom night, along with specialty beverages in a glowing glass (such as sparkling wine and a signature punch) and terrific views of Wishes. Remember last week when we told you about the brand new “Sparkling” IllumiNations Dessert Party in Epcot? Well, we’ve got pics from the very first event! 🙂 Many thanks to DFB reader Tricia Noble and her husband, who snapped the photos on Saturday night and wrote up a review!
Tonight my wife and I went to the first night of Epcot’s Illuminations Dessert Party. Being the first night of an event, we expect that things will change and adjust according to the feedback Disney Events receives.
The party location was right as you enter the World Showcase, between the two gift shops at the edge of the lagoon. The view for Illuminations from here is fantastic. However, the location is a bit more public than we were expecting for a ticketed “private” party.
In addition, the slope in the area meant that there were no chairs. The ccktail tables scattered around were not sufficient for the number of attendees, and not usable by young guests and those in scooters or wheelchairs. I expect that to be addressed quickly (more tables were brought out just before the fireworks started.)
Now for the desserts. The party was billed as tastes from around the World Showcase, but unless I miss my mark, the countries represented merely inspired, rather than provided, the offerings.
I would have liked to either see more variety or better pairings between the wines and the desserts. The fresh fruit was nice and flavorful, and a good palette cleanser between the other confections.
Offerings included Cronuts (called Cronis here, apparently), strawberry sauce, Tiramisu, Pot de Creme, Baklava, fresh fruit, shortbread, and ice cream goodies like Mickey bars, Mickey ice cream sandwiches, orange creme pops, and other [Read more…]
