The Gingerbread House in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa opened in its new spot on Wednesday, and we were there to check it out!
The Gingerbread House is celebrating its 20th year in 2018, and it’s set up in an all-new location!
It may be Halloween, but we saw a sure sign of Christmas today! The Contemporary Resort’s Gingerbread Castle in Disney World is going up!
We can see the Castle, is in its “new” home for the second year in a row by the windows on the fourth floor. There it is — peeking out from between the Contemporary shops on the Grand Canyon Concourse!
You might not be ready yet to start humming Jingle Bells just yet, but the Holidays at Walt Disney World are on their way… and frankly, we love it! It’s the most wonderful time of the year to visit (even with the massive crowds!), and there are endless holiday-themed experiences to make your holidays even brighter!

It’s time to ring in the season with the famous Disney World Resort Gingerbread Displays!
While displays throughout various resorts are in different stages towards completion, the Contemporary Resort has debuted its brand new 2014 Gingerbread Display themed to (shocker, I know) Frozen!
This impressive display brings together current and classic as the Frozen characters are designed in the vintage style of Mary Blair, as is fitting for the Contemporary. And the whole thing (which looks a lot like a Norwegian Stave Church) is set against a pretty familiar looking background. It’s Arendelle meets “it’s a small world.”
As always, there are some great fun facts regarding the ingredients that make up this enormous display!
And those 14 Hidden Olafs? Just look among the characters to locate a few.
See the sliver of silver on the bottom left? That’s one!
Directly next to the display is a counter topped with gingerbread selling [Read more…]
If you’re like me, you typically reserve gingerbread treats for the end of the year. I simply can’t disassociate the fragrance and taste of gingerbread from all-things-Holidays.
I look forward each November to the Gingerbread Cupcake at Hollywood Studios in the same way I look forward to making gingerbread treats in my own home throughout December. (Okay, so they’re the pre-made/pre-cut cookies that you just have to warm up in the oven… that counts, right?)
BUT, if you want access to delicious gingerbread all year round…you’ve got it — in the form of the Mickey Gingerbread Cookie!
You’ll often find this little guy in bakery cases across Disney World. But I’ve had the best luck at Sweet Spells and Writer’s Stop in Hollywood Studios, Goofy’s Candy Co. in Downtown Disney, and Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Confectionery, which is where I grabbed mine.
The composition is simple: a gingerbread cookie with the signature ears dipped in milk chocolate, with two white chocolate candy buttons to spiffy up the ol’ outfit. To be honest, he looks more like a “Mickey Fan Gingerbread” wearing an ear hat as opposed to a “Mickey Gingerbread” to me, but we’ll let that slide, since he looks cute as a traditional Gingerbread Man either way!
Maybe it’s because [Read more…]
The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin have added their own holiday treats to the mix this year, including a massive Santa Claus scene made entirely of chocolate, and a holiday bake shop that we got a sneak peek into!
The chocolate holiday scene is massive, and includes a Santa made entirely of chocolate, a sugar tree (gorgeous!!), and chocolate [Read more…]
