New DFB Video Review: Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop

We are stopping into Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop today for our latest DFB Video!

You’ll find two Disney locations for Ghirardelli — one in Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs, and the other in Disneyland’s Disney California Adventure. While we love all of the Ice Cream, Cocoa, Coffee, and Chocolate Goodies you can get in both stores, today we’ll be focusing on the Disneyland location.

News: Ice Cream Flights Now Available at Ample Hills Creamery on Disney’s Boardwalk

So, let’s say you’re at Ample Hills Creamery on Disney’s Boardwalk.

And let’s suppose you’re taking in all the choices at Disney’s latest ice cream shop… because this is where things get tricky.

How do you decide between flavors like Coffee Toffee Coffee, Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, Malty Salty Pretzel Punch, Baked/Unbaked (filled with house-made chocolate chip cookies and brown butter cookie dough), Sally Sells Seashells (a flavor made exclusively for Disney World), or — my favorite — Peppermint Pattie full of house-made mint chocolate patties? And that’s just naming a few.

It’s not easy, folks.

BUT… there IS a way to ease the dilemma a bit. Ice Cream Flights are now available at Ample Hills Creamery!

Just like the sign says, “Can’t pick just 1 flavor? Get a taste of up to 6 different flavors!” I’m so excited! I’ve been waiting for these to arrive since they opened their doors this Summer! [Read more…]

Review: Candied Peanuts with Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Ice Cream at Epcot’s L’Artisan des Glaces

They’ve done it again, my friends!

We’re back at L’Artisan des Glaces to check out their newest flavor of house-made ice cream.

Even the name is quite a mouthful (almost as much as the Cinnamon, Caramelized Apple & Crumble Crunch), but we think you’ll find it’s worth taking the time to place your order ;) .

So, remember this name: because it’s time to try some Candied Peanuts with Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Ice Cream!

First thing’s first, though. Let’s head into this lovely little ice cream shop in Epcot’s France Pavilion…

Review: Mickey Mouse Kid’s Cone at The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor in Magic Kingdom

Summer is most definitely upon us…and it’s time to share a little Summer magic!

While I would argue that ANY time of year is the perfect time for ice cream, it’s especially true when the temps are at their highest in Central Florida.

So when the craving hits while you’re in the Magic Kingdom, then I know just the place for you: the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor!

Just head on over to the corner of Main Street, U.S.A., right next door to The Plaza Restaurant.

The Plaza locations greet you just before the turn-of-the-century charm of Main Street transitions into the retro-futuristic vision of Tomorrowland.

First Look and Review! Ample Hills Creamery Soft Opens on Disney’s Boardwalk

We gave you a Sneak Peek last week…

… and now we’re back to give you a First Look at the brand new Ample Hills Creamery on Disney’s Boardwalk!

Just a few days ago, the walls came down around the newest ice cream parlor in Disney World and we were able to steal a glimpse of the spot located right next door to the ESPN Club. But now Ample Hills Creamery is currently in soft openings, and we were able to pop in for what we’ve all been waiting for… ICE CREAM!!

First, though, just a note that soft openings are like a “dress rehearsal” for new eateries and attractions around Disney World. This means that there are no guarantees that the spot will be operating at any given time, and — in the case of restaurants — the menu may not be finalized, or certain ingredients may not be available until everything is official. In the case of Ample Hills Creamery, the anticipated official opening will take place on May 15th.

But we just couldn’t wait any longer to get a taste for ourselves so we could bring it to YOU… so welcome to the first Ample Hills Creamery location outside of New York State, right here in Disney World! [Read more…]

Rumor: Is Star Wars Ice Cream Coming to Disney World’s BoardWalk?

Well, if you’re bummed that Seashore Sweets has closed, removing your option for ice cream on Disney’s BoardWalk in Walt Disney World, then you may want to pay attention to this… umm, scoop.

According to the folks at wdwmagic.com, it seems that Ample Hills Creamery products might be served in a new ice cream shop coming to the former location of the ESPN Club Arcade (the ESPN Club is still open, but the arcade section has been closed). [Read more…]
