We had a case of wanderlust this week, and instead of getting out the passport and packing, we just hopped over to spend the day in Epcot. Our journey started with some time spent in Future World, followed by a trip around the World Showcase. And boy, did we find a lot new eats and buys for you on this “trip”!
Among the outstanding dining experiences in Epcot’s France Pavilion at Walt Disney World is a L’Artisan des Glaces, the pavilion’s quick service ice cream and sorbet spot.
This charming little (and we do mean little) shop used to be France’s pastry shop Boulangerie Patisserie, which was replaced, relocated, and renamed Boulangerie Patisserie Les Halles about five years ago.
But what L’Artisan des Glaces lacks in space, it more than makes up for in quality.
Happy Monday! And what better way to kick off your week than with another DFB Video? Today we’re checking out 5 Disney World drinks that we think you should put on your list to try in 2018!
From Epcot and Hollywood Studios to Animal Kingdom and beyond the parks in Disney Springs, we enjoyed several fun new drinks in 2017 that we totally think you need to check out on your next Disney World visit! And while plenty invite you to imbibe, we’ve also included our favorite non-alcoholic beverage on the list so everyone’s sure to have something tasty and cool to sip. Cheers to you, my friends! We’re still newly into 2018! And tradition dictates that we ring in the New Year with some bubbly. While that’s never a bad choice when the clock strike midnight, I’ve got some ideas for ways you can celebrate with a drink in Walt Disney World no matter what time of year your visit falls in 2018!
These are some of the sips we most enjoyed over the past year… and can’t wait to enjoy again in 2018!
Wine Slushies at Amorette’s Patisserie
Did you think Amorette’s Patisserie showcased nothing more than artful cakes and pastries? Then think again. Because this Disney Springs sweet spot is home to the vino that went VIRAL in 2017: Wine Slushies!
Choose from two fruity flavors: Strawberry Shiraz and Mango Moscato (an Apple Cider Riesling even appeared on the menu for the 2017 holiday season).
Hello, there! Or should I say, “Bonjour!”? Because we’re back with another DFB Video today, and we’re taking a FOOD TOUR of Epcot’s France Pavilion!
So get ready to settle in… because when it comes to food options in Epcot’s France Pavilion, it’s almost an embarrassment of riches! Tucked into the beautiful Pavilion is a Signature Restaurant with Monsieur Paul and a Table Service restaurant, Chefs de France. But it’s also home to its very own housemade ice cream and sorbet shop, Slushes just for adults, and one of the most extensive and delicious snack offerings anywhere in Disney World at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie… and that’s not even everything! So get ready to check it ALL out in our latest DFB Video! [Read more…]
Here is a bit of wine news for all you Vino fans out there… and you don’t have to wait until the Epcot Food and Wine Festival for it!
We have a couple of updates to report regarding Epcot’s World Showcase Wine Walk. For those unfamiliar with this lesser-known Epcot experience, here is a brief rundown (read about the experience in full here). Interested guests can head to any one of three spots to start their Wine Walk: the Germany Pavilion’s Weinkeller, Italy’s La Bottega Italia, and France’s Aux Vins de France. [Read more…]
It’s here! I can hardly believe it, but the 2016 Epcot Food and Wine Festival is finally underway!
The fun officially kicked off on September 14 and runs until November 14. That’s more than eight weeks of savoring all that this special event has to offer! And we had so much fun eating and drinking along the Promenade to discover our Best of the Fest dishes and drinks to recommend!
But of course, you can’t forget the tons of events that take place during the Festival. From Low Cost Events like Culinary Demonstrations and Beverage Seminars to high end Special Events like Party for the Senses, there’s so much to do at every turn. But here’s the catch — nearly all of it comes with a pricetag.
So that, of course, begs the question: how in the World do you plan for the Food Lover Trip of the Year?
We get it! So we’re here for you with some great tips for Budgeting for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. And if you like what you see, be sure to check out our 2016 DFB Guide to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, completely updated with everything you can expect to enjoy at this year’s event!
How Much Money Should I Budget For a Day at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival?
Well, the answer to that is…it totally depends! [Read more…]
Tucked away towards the back of Epcot’s France Pavilion is one of our favorite spots for French pastries, sandwiches and specialty items.
And on our last visit to Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie in Epcot’s France Pavilion we noticed a menu item that seems like a combination of two of our favorite things: delicious croissants and breakfast!
Under the Specialties Section of the menu is the Croissant Salé!
This is an exciting time, my friends. The Watch and Wait Season has officially arrived for all things 2016 Epcot Food and Wine Festival!
What do I mean by that? Well, this is the time of the year when details begin to emerge for all of the events, menus, and more for our Favorite Event of the Year!
If you’re a festival fan, you’re gonna want to pay close attention in the upcoming weeks, as we provide you with all of the updates FIRST. Better yet — subscribe to the DFB Newsletter, and we’ll bring all the news directly to you!
In the meantime, as we await all of the latest as well as the start date — the festival will run from September 14 through November 14 — we love looking through some of the fun that we had last year.
Today, we’ll take a closer look at one of the NEW Special Events we attended in 2015 — French Family Meal Traditions. And I’m gonna get a little ahead of myself: this was so fabulous that we totally expect it to be back again this year.
There’s lots to see, so let’s get started!
One of my favorite things about Special Events that take place in Epcot’s World Showcase Pavilions, versus events in World ShowPlace, is that you often get a chance to see inside a restaurant that you may not have experienced before. Both French Family Meal Traditions and The Parisian Afternoon: Sandwiches, Macarons, and Bubbles! take place at Monsieur Paul.
If you haven’t had the chance to dine at Monsieur Paul, you may not be familiar with it. It’s the fine dining option in Epcot’s France Pavilion. You’ll find it by heading back through France as though you’re getting a Macaron Ice Cream Sammie at L’Artisan des Glaces. 🙂 But hang a left before you get to the boutique ice cream shop. Go through the door with the awning, past the hostess stand, and you’ll spy this beautiful art nouveau staircase leading up to the second floor restaurant. [Read more…]
We are big fans of Epcot around here, just like you are. It may not be the original Disney World Park, but it holds a charm that few other spots in the Disney universe can. After all, walking around there feels like you’ve stepped into the dreams of Walt Disney himself. It didn’t start life as the Experimental Prototype City Of Tomorrow for nothing!
The park has evolved a bit through the years, but we’re still enchanted by its dual personalities: Future World, celebrating technology and the promise of what’s to come; and World Showcase, which encourages visitors to embrace cultures from around the globe in order to learn from them. [Read more…]
