Well, another color addition has hit the shelves in celebration of the Fourth of July this week!
The first Epcot Festival of 2019 has officially begun! Today kicks off the third annual Epcot Festival of the Arts!
Today through February 25, 2019, three artistic disciplines — Visual, Performance, and Culinary — will be celebrated in special art exhibits, participatory activities and photo ops for guests, complimentary seminars and extra-ticketed interactive workshops, and performances including the Disney on Broadway Concert Series.
Today, we’re focusing — naturally! — on the Culinary Arts! You can find these at Food Studios around the World Showcase, which, like the Marketplace Booths for the Food and Wine Festival, bring new tapas sized dishes and unique drinks to the park. Additional items are also added to permanent locations in Epcot.
And we’re trying them ALL to bring YOU the items you’ve got to try at the Epcot Festival of the Arts! You can see pictures of every item by visiting our Food Studios page. But right now? Check out our…
Here are our favorite food and drinks from the day!
We checked out all the new items in Disney Springs from the WonderFall special offerings to new merchandise and updates. We love the Fall theme and decor all over the area!
This time we started our tour in The Marketplace — and were rewarded with a Villainous discovery!
We started out with Frosé, but now Wine Bar George is introducing us to the next frozen wine must-drink!
How about Freaujolais [say it like “froh-zhuh-ley”]?

Let’s say you’re in Disney Springs and you really want to try some of the wine and cuisine at Wine Bar George.
But you’ve only got a limited amount of time to spend in Disney Springs. That’s where The Basket at Wine Bar George comes in!
The Basket offers a Quick Service component to Wine Bar George — the new wine bar in Disney Springs headed by none other than Master Sommelier George Miliotes. This spot boasts everything you could want to create a picnic “basket” inspired by a Master Sommelier… including wines on tap served by carafe or by the glass!
Let’s find out what’s in The Basket!
The atmosphere is… well, quite simple!
The Basket is essentially a Counter Service window, tucked right underneath the upstairs outdoor terrace seating of Wine Bar George.
The second annual Epcot International Festival of the Arts kicked off TODAY!
This still-new Festival debuted in 2017, celebrating the Culinary, Visual, and Performing Arts. And you can enjoy it in Epcot every day now through February 19th!
The Culinary Arts are primarily celebrated through the event’s Food Booths. Like the Marketplace Booths for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, Food Studios bring enhanced food offerings to Festival guests, but with a unique focus on presentation for the dishes. And today we’ve got our Best of the Fest!
Pool bars don’t get a lot of love in the Disney food world, probably because they aren’t really what you’d call “destination dining.”
Obviously, they’re more of a convenience for when you’re… well, by the pool at your Resort! You’re not going to go out of your way to visit one, but you sure are glad that they’re around the pool when you are. Because there’s hungry… and then there’s I’ve-been-swimming-all-day hungry.
But that’s kind of a shame, because some pool bars have some pretty decent food (and great drinks)! The Oasis Bar & Grill Pool Bar at the Polynesian Village Resort really stepped up the game, for example, with items like great Kahlua Pork Sliders. And the Uzima Springs Pool Bar at Animal Kingdom Lodge serves flatbreads (including a unique Braai Chicken Flatbread) that’ll satisfy any sudden carb craving. And then Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge took “pool bar” to the next level.
Cabana Bar and Beach Club at Disney World’s Dolphin Hotel (it’s convenient to the Swan, too) is one such under-celebrated pool bar. Cabana even made an appearance at the Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic in October with their Double Fried Chicken! But my WOW here at Cabana was the aioli — there are tons of them and they are amazing. If you’re like me and love your dipping sauces, read on.
Cabana Bar and Beach Club (not to be confused with Banana Cabana at Caribbean Beach Resort or Cabanas on board the Disney Cruise Line ships) boasts a surprisingly huge menu (several pages long!). You’ll want to start with the Cocktails, which are cleverly named… and generously poured. 😉 [Read more…]

Port Orleans Resort, Riverside!
And Ol’ Man Island, with its fabulous, amoeba-shaped pool!
Nestled right by Ol’ Man Island is the home-y and rustic Muddy Rivers Pool Bar, and it’s everything you want out of a pool bar in the Bayou. (Haven’t thought about what you’d want out of a pool bar in the bayou? Let us help you visualize it.) There’s wood everywhere you look, including exposed rafters. At the base of the bar are weathered vertical wood panels in a variety of colors, creating the feeling that this bar has been pieced together over time. [Read more…]
