More new food-related vinylmations have been released (or announced), and we can’t wait to share them with you!

Kitchen Kabaret Vinylmation Set

Drum roll please… The Kitchen Kabaret Vinylmation set that we reported on back in September has now been released.

Broccoli Vinylmation is one of Six in the Kitchen Kabaret Vinylmation Set

The 6-piece set is being sold at the Walt Disney World and Disneyland D-Street locations as well as few select in-park shops, retailing for $99.95. I’m not at the parks this week, so I’ll have to wait until the mailman brings me my set to show you up-close-and-personal photos of these vinyl veggies.

But to keep your hunger at bay, I do have a few foodie Vinylmation pictures for you to snack on.

Valentine’s Day Box of Chocolates

For all you lovebirds out there, is has been offering the Vinylmation version of a box of chocolates.

Disney Food History: Kitchen Kabaret Plush Toys on Display

Anyone else out there remember their first plush toy from Disney World? Maybe you got a brand new Mickey Mouse plush, or Minnie, or maybe even a Goofy doll!

Not me. Nope. I got the mariachi tomato from Kitchen Kabaret as my first Disney World toy! Clearly I was destined to be a Disney Food Blogger! ;-)

Anyway, a few months ago I was touring One Man’s Dream in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and I came across none other than my first Disney World toy!!

Granted, mine was a miniature version of this, but it brought back so many memories (I really loved that tomato)! So I had to tell you about it just in case you’d like to head over to see it.

They also have the broccoli plush on display (and I think IKEA has stolen the blueprints for their new popular, but clearly less hip, broccoli toy…).

Anyway, just wanted to share these fun finds with you — especially since Kitchen Kabaret has been immortalized (?) through a Vinylmation collection! :-)

UPDATE: Check out what reader Candace Henderson sent over!! This fun “basket of fruits and veggies” sites on her dining table to bring back great memories!

Preview of Food-Related Disney Vinylmation to be Served Up Soon

Our Vinylmation Guru, Erin Foster, has the latest on upcoming foodie vinyl releases!

Disney certainly has a lot on its plate in Vinylmation-land. This past weekend Walt Disney World hosted an event called The Florida Project, a key component of which was meets and seminars for Disney pin and Vinylmation traders and collectors. Many thanks to Cody Smith of Global Disney Pinvestigation for his reporting from this event.

A highlight of the Vinylmation Florida Project news was the announcement of future series releases and the unveiling of teaser figures from those series. Upcoming sets will include Seven Dwarves Vinylmation Juniors, Cutesters at the Beach, Alice in Wonderland, Park Classics, This and That Juniors, more Park and Urban, Nerd Figment and Stitch, Haunted Mansion, Sports Teams, Chinese Zodiac, and many more.

But of course food-related Vinylmations are the favorite with Disney Food Blog readers and the Florida Project teasers have given us more than enough to whet our appetites. Here’s what Disney is cooking up:

Disney Foodie Vinylmation Update

Disney Food for Families columnist Erin Foster is our Vinylmation guru, too! Check out these cute new food Vinylmation figures and ear hats!

We’ve covered the world of foodie Vinylmation several times in the past, from a Rice Krispie create-your-own to sushi and, of course cupcakes.

Since then, there have been some additions to the Vinyl food world. The Urban 7 series of Vinylmation figures was released in July. I couldn’t resist adding this spaghetti and meatballs figure to my buffet of food-themed Vinylmations.

Disney Food Blast From the Past: Kitchen Kabaret

One of my favorite food memories from visiting WDW is watching Kitchen Kabaret, the original food and nutrition show put on at EPCOT Center’s The Land pavilion.

This audio-animatronic showcase of “edible” delights had funny jokes, catchy songs, and a healthy premise, but what I liked most about it was that there was so much to look at and anticipate. The detail of the animatronics was incredible; the variety of the songs was broad; the characters were actually [Read more…]
