Review: Anna’s Happy Birthday Cupcake (A “Frozen Fever” Treat)

Happy Birthday, Princess Anna!

All over Disney World and Disneyland, guests are invited to celebrate the birthday of Frozen’s Princess Anna (she’s a princess, right?). This goes hand in hand with the Frozen Fever film short where our Arendelle friends attempt to throw her a surprise party, and Anna’s Happy Birthday Cupcake is one of three Frozen Fever treats brought out for the occasion.

I grabbed mine at Epcot’s Kringla Bakeri og Kafe in Norway, but this is just one of the spots where you can find it. From parks to resorts, you can grab it at several locations including the Beach Club Marketplace and Epcot’s Sunshine Seasons in Disney World, and Jolly Holiday Bakery and The Coffee House in Disneyland (find the full list of locations here!).

When I mention our “Arendelle Friends,” that clearly includes Olaf, who tops this treat. (Incidentally, you’ll also find this white chocolate piece topping Olaf’s Perfect Sundae Day.)

New! Olaf Frozen Lemonade Strawberry Bar in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

Welp, they’re at it again. If the Frozen cupcakes, drinks, cookies, a gingerbread castle, and an entire dessert party weren’t enough for you, there’s now an ice cream bar in the Magic Kingdom that you just might love!

Friday Happy Hour: Winter Berry Margarita at Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post

UPDATE: Please note that Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post — intended as a temporary location — is now closed.

Even though Frozen Summer Fun has officially come to an end at Hollywood Studios, that doesn’t mean the fun has ended altogether!

A few elements of the special event that ran throughout the summer remain, including For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, and a new home for Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Frozen Snowground.

Since there is Frozen food to be had there, we couldn’t resist stopping by its new spot across the street from Studio Catering Co.

Food isn’t the only thing you’ll find at Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post. It still remains THE place to build your own snowman in Central Florida.

Amidst the wintery fun, changes for the future are happening at Hollywood Studios, too. Rumor has it that the L.A. Prop Cinema Storage shop might just be the next Starbucks stop in the Parks. The refurbishment is scheduled to last until March 2015.

LIVE News: Eats and Treats at the Rock Your Disney Side 24-Hour Events in Disney Parks

Hey all! We were up before the sun and are reporting live from the Disney 24-hour Rock Your Disney Side event on both coasts!

Eats and Treats fro the 24 Hour Disney Side Events

We’ll be updating this post throughout the day with new eats and treats, so be sure to stay tuned! We already have a LOT to share with you!

For those who haven’t heard about this event, it’s Disney’s opportunity to kick off the Summer season (and to promote their new rides and movies) by being open for 24 solid hours at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and Disneyland! Guests get the chance to indulge in one-day-only treats and goodies, have access to fun one-day-only merchandise, and fight super SUPER huge crowds (always a must when you’re at Disney, right?). ;-)

OK, let’s dive right into the list of what we’ve been noshing on this morning…

Disney World AND Disneyland Specialty Treats

So with this whole “both coasts homogenize all their food” thing (blerg), you can see similar specialty treats in Disney World and Disneyland more and more often. This is definitely happening for this big event!

Rock Your Disney Side Heroes vs. Villains Cupcakes
Of COURSE there are specialty cupcakes! How could they deny us this?

Today, they’re featuring vanilla and chocolate versions with little villains and heroes logo chocolate pieces on top. (I guess your “Disney side” is heroes vs villains?)

Maleficent Themed Rice Krispie Treats, Caramel Apples, and Cake Pops
These Maleficent goodies are definitely some of the most creative I’ve seen in a while! Interestingly, the cake pops were executed MUCH better in Disneyland than they were in Disney World, so I chose the prettier pic to share. ;-)

Disney World Specialty Treats

There are a few goodies debuting at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom today! (We’re hoping some of them might hang around on the menus, but, sadly, most of them won’t.) We’re super excited about this one in particular:

Poisoned Apple Waffle Sundae
Found at Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square, this lightly sweet waffle is topped with vanilla soft serve and stewed apples (basically good apple pie filling). The whole thing is sprinkled with green and purple sugar crystals to promote the new Maleficent film.

Due to the of popularity Disney’s award-winning film, “Frozen,” select food and merchandise around the Walt Disney World parks is showcasing some of the movie’s favorite characters!

Earlier this year, we featured the Frost Cupcake discovered at the Contempo Cafe (home to some of our favorite cupcakes!). And we just adore the Olaf Candy Apples!

Frozen themed Rice Krispy Treats were recently spotted at Epcot’s Mouse Gears as well as The Puffin’s Roost gift shop in the Norway pavilion. We found ‘em in Disneyland at the Candy Palace this weekend, too!

Check out the fun close-up!
