On May 27, 2018, Pandora — the World of AVATAR celebrated its first birthday! And while the Animal Kingdom’s newest land didn’t have a Pandoran smash cake, we did stop in to retry some of the eats that’ve fueled many a journey down the Na’vi River and on the back of a banshee for Flight of Passage!
Since Pandora — The World of AVATAR opened last year in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we’ve been watching the treats at the land’s beverage and snack stand, Pongu Pongu.
Pongu Pongu’s signature snack, Pongu Lumpia, is a pineapple and cream cheese-filled spring roll. It’s been a love/hate snack since some people don’t like the texture — but I think it’s great! But something that does tend to be a big favorite among many is the Night Blossom. This frozen beverage layers apple with desert pear and limeade and is topped with passion fruit popping pearls.
It’s bright and beautiful, both in color and flavor, and we’ve recommended it from the first as one of the best non-alcoholic drink options not only in Animal Kingdom, but in the whole of Disney World.
Wait… did I say “non-alcoholic”? Yes I did… because it is. But NOW, you can also order up a RUM BLOSSOM, which adds Bacardi Superior Rum to the drink!
Happy Monday! And what better way to kick off your week than with another DFB Video? Today we’re checking out 5 Disney World drinks that we think you should put on your list to try in 2018!
From Epcot and Hollywood Studios to Animal Kingdom and beyond the parks in Disney Springs, we enjoyed several fun new drinks in 2017 that we totally think you need to check out on your next Disney World visit! We’re still newly into 2018! And tradition dictates that we ring in the New Year with some bubbly. While that’s never a bad choice when the clock strike midnight, I’ve got some ideas for ways you can celebrate with a drink in Walt Disney World no matter what time of year your visit falls in 2018!
These are some of the sips we most enjoyed over the past year… and can’t wait to enjoy again in 2018!
Wine Slushies at Amorette’s Patisserie
Did you think Amorette’s Patisserie showcased nothing more than artful cakes and pastries? Then think again. Because this Disney Springs sweet spot is home to the vino that went VIRAL in 2017: Wine Slushies!
Choose from two fruity flavors: Strawberry Shiraz and Mango Moscato (an Apple Cider Riesling even appeared on the menu for the 2017 holiday season).
Happy New Year!
There’s no denying that 2017 has been a year of changes, some good and some not-so-good. But when it comes to Disney food news, we have to say this year has been FULL of updates!
And as we get ready to ring in the New Year with party hats, noisemakers, and a toast, we’re taking a few minutes to review some of the biggest Disney Food News stories of 2017!
Let’s go! [Read more…]
There are a lot of still new things to enjoy at Animal Kingdom, and today we’ve got the scoop on a few of them!
Over at Tiffins, the much-lauded signature restaurant that embraces travel and adventure, diners may experience not one but two prix fixe menus! The first prix fixe option is designed for busy days — days when the restaurant has lots of ADRs lined up. Offerings include Braised Wagyu Pozole and Grilled Swordfish.
It’s official!! Pandora — The World of AVATAR — in Disney World’s Animal Kingdom is OPEN! And…um…the lines are a little cray-cray.
So we recommend staying home this weekend instead of braving the insanity that is the three hour wait to get IN TO Pandora, and then the three hour wait to ride any of the rides…and watch our Pandora videos instead!! ;-D
You’re invited to a “Party Party” in Pandora — The World of AVATAR!
“Party Party” is the translation from the Na’vi language for Pongu Pongu, which officially opens in Animal Kingdom — along with the rest of Disney World’s newest land — on May 27th. Pandora is currently in Passholder Preview mode for pre-registered guests, and we’ve already taken you inside Satu’li Canteen, the land’s fast-casual restaurant, which will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner to Pandora’s guests.
