Raglan Road Irish Pub has been a staple in Disney Springs since it opened in 2005, and from day one, Master Chef Kevin Dundon has been wowing guests with his eclectic Irish menu. So it’s definitely a sad day in Disney food news as we report that the Chef has left the building.
We know that the holiday season can be a busy time, so the last thing you might think you need is another holiday to celebrate. But Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant in Disney Springs wants you to know about a holiday beer fans will be celebrating all month. Yup — it’s National Lager Day! Who knew?!
It’s HOOLEY Time!
The Sixth Annual Great Irish Hooley kicks off TODAY at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World. And it promises to be an amazing weekend for music lovers, and all y’all who just really love having a grand time.
The music lineup is pretty incredible. We had the chance to hear the Lisa Canny Band perform earlier this week, and we were blown away. GO. SEE. HER. (And everyone else, for that matter.)
But you might be wondering what you can enjoy in the way of food while you’re enjoying the Hooley. Well, you’re in luck, because we’re sharing a few of the newer menu items that we recently had the chance to sample. [Read more…]

With so many new spots to check out at Disney Springs, I was anxious to get back to a few of our longstanding favorites.
So on a recent visit to Walt Disney World, I took the opportunity to meet friends at Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant.
If you’re familiar with the former Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island, then you know that Raglan Road used to front the Pleasure Island District, right next to the expansive parking lots.
Well, with the redesign of the entire area and the birth of Disney Springs, Raglan Road seems to have moved! Actually, it’s in exactly the same place…it’s just that Disney Springs has bubbled up right out front of the spot.
It’s c-c-cold out there, and wouldn’t some buttery, creamy soup hit the spot? Here’s a great option from Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant.
From their creamy Wild Forest Mushroom Chowder to their Potato Soup, every single soup I’ve tried at the Disney Springs hotspot has been incredible (mostly due to the copious amounts of butter and cream involved). And today, we’re sharing with you another must-have recipe.
Colcannon Potatoes — a traditional mixture of silky mashed potatoes and cabbage — are one of the classic Irish sides that you can enjoy at the Pub. But they also serve as inspiration for this warming Colcannon Soup.
Winter is with us for a few more months, so take the opportunity to whip up a batch of this indulgent soup for your next evening in. [Read more…]
It’s party time at Raglan Road Irish Pub.
Located at Downtown Disney (soon to be Disney Springs), the authentic Irish Pub and Restaurant continues its year-long celebration of its 10th anniversary. But, as always, they’re also celebrating the halfway mark to St. Patrick’s Day with their 4th Annual Great Irish Hooley.
The party will take place over Labor Day Weekend, beginning at noon on Friday, September 4, and will continuing through Monday, September 7.
One of the highlights of the weekend will be a collection of craft beers that Ireland’s Rye River Brewing Company has created just for the Hooley! Guests can choose from four limited-edition brews: Raglan Road Saison, Raglan Road Fruit Salad Weiss Beer, McGargles Jims CO2 Stout, and McGargles Francis Tropical American IPA.
We’ll have a chance to taste all four at the beginning of the Hooley; be sure to stay tuned to learn more about them! They promise to pair well with Raglan Road’s menu, which features a mix of traditional and contemporary Irish dishes. [Read more…]
In the next couple of days, I’ll be bringing you more highlights from Disney Food Blog’s visit to Ireland with Chef Kevin Dundon from Raglan Road Irish Pub. Today, we’re taking a closer look at one of the food suppliers we’ve visited, which will very soon be supplying to Raglan Road in Orlando directly from Ireland!
Grass Fed Beef at Raglan Road
I was very interested in our stop at Paddy Murphy’s to learn more about how grass fed cattle are raised for beef in Ireland. And while there, we were treated to some exciting news — grass fed Irish beef is coming to Raglan Road in the very near future!
Since grass fed beef is highly regarded as a more humane treatment for the animals, and is much healthier for beef consumers, this is pretty exciting news.
But why now, you may ask? Well, up until very recently, there has been a ban on Irish beef coming into the United States. But when the ban was lifted earlier this year, it paved the way for Chef Dundon to do something he’s wanted to do for quite a while — showcase Irish beef at Raglan Road in Disney Springs.
In recent years, there has been a huge movement by many people to leave behind the more popular grain fed beef for grass fed varieties. The reasons for this are fairly simple: grass fed beef is higher in nutrients than grain fed beef. Cows have historically grazed for their diet, which consisted of grass and grass-like plants as well as shrubs. Introducing grain into a cow’s diet does quite a lot to fatten the animal and promote nicely marbled meat, but it wreaks havoc on the nutritional profile, since animals are what they eat.
Currently, Irish raised grass fed beef is running as [Read more…]
It’s a big week for us here at Disney Food Blog! While AJ has been busy reporting to you LIVE from the kickoff of Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary Celebration, I’m in Ireland with Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant!
But what does that have to do with Disney, Brooke?
Haha — Excellent question!
As we previously reported, Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant will celebrate its Tenth Anniversary this Fall, and they’re doing it up BIG! To mark the occasion, they sponsored a Raglan Road Master Chef Contest. Read more about it here.
Welp — the five finalists have traveled to Ireland to spend time soaking up the atmosphere, fine tuning their culinary skills, and honing their attention to detail with Master Chef Kevin Dundon!
Raglan Road tries to bring a slice of authentic, contemporary Ireland straight to Walt Disney World. We see it in the decor of the pub and their menu. We’ve had the opportunity to dine at some of Chef Kevin Dundon’s favorite spots that provide inspiration for the menus at Raglan Road, including brunch at Herb Street in the heart of Dublin.
But I couldn’t leave Dublin without a stroll on Raglan Road, the street that inspired the poem…that inspired the song…that inspired the Pub that we all know and love.
Today, we leave Dublin and head for County Wexford, where we’ll spend time watching the Raglan Road master chef finalists hone their skills at Chef Kevin Dundon’s Dunbrody Country House Hotel. Hopefully we’ll get to know what makes Raglan Road tick.
Thanks for following along!
