Dining in Disneyland: Pumpkin Beignets vs. Pumpkin Fritters

Fall is here and the Disneyland Resort is full of lots of amazing seasonal treats.

If you know me, you know this is my very favorite food season and anything with the word “pumpkin” in the title is something that you’ll find me ordering.

Two things that I recently devoured, both located at Disneyland, are the Pumpkin Fritters from Royal Street Veranda and Pumpkin Beignets from the Mint Julep Bar.  Both are mouth watering, but I do have a favorite… .

In my book, the Pumpkin Fritters reign tastiest seasonal pumpkin treat. But don’t worry, if you prefer the Pumpkin Beignets, I’ll still be your friend!

Let’s start with MY favorite:

Pumpkin Fritters in Disneyland

Pumpkin Fritters can be be found at Royal Street Veranda near Pirates of the Caribbean.

Royal Street Veranda

Known for their chowder in a bread bowl, this great little spot also serves fritters.  Normally the fritters are apple, but this year they have seasonal Pumpkin “Squash” Fritters!

Dining in Disneyland: A Quick Peek at Halloween Treats

Halloween time has arrived at the Disneyland Resort, and the treats (especially the pumpkin ones) are calling my name!

Familiar Pumpkin Faces at Halloween Time!

I found a handful of fun items that I felt needed to be shared immediately so that your Halloween snacking could be planned accordingly.

Please note that we will be posting some in depth reviews of some of these treats, but for now, here’s a mini sampling…

Let’s not save the best for last.

Pumpkin Fritters, Gingerbread Cookies, and Pumpkin Latte

These gems can be found in Disneyland at the Royal Street Veranda. They have REAL pumpkin chunks in them and are fried to perfection.  They come with a creamy custard dipping sauce.

The Royal Street Veranda also features a Pumpkin Latte
The Pumpkin Latte is flavorful but not at all artificial tasting.

A perfect treat to keep you warm, if it ever cools down here in Southern California!

AND Spooky Kooky Gingerbread Cookies
Soft, chewy and ginger-bready, with a Halloween twist!

These can also be purchased at the Mint Julep Bar.

Mickey Ghost Marshmallow Cones

Trolley Treats at Disney California Adventure had these adorable grim grinning Mickey Ghost Marshmallow Cones in their window.

Review: Apple Fritters and Clam Chowder at Royal Street Veranda at Disneyland

We’re heading into Disneyland for a taste of the Big Easy. Let’s check out Royal Street Veranda!

Located in New Orleans Square, this spot is a great place to relax with a cup of coffee or a bite to eat before hopping aboard your Pirates of the Caribbean boat.

Walk Up Window for Ordering

Today, I’m enjoying a classic Disneyland meal — and sampling a unique dessert!

Atmosphere

The atmosphere of Royal Street Veranda is actually the atmosphere of New Orleans Square, since it’s really just a walk up window. That slice of Deep-South-Meets-Colonial-Port-Town is evident all around you.

The stone terrace that serves as the spot’s seating area bumps right up beside the line for Pirates of the Caribbean.

Eats

Royal Street Veranda offers a very limited menu. Basically, there are a few drink options; three soups — clam chowder, steak gumbo, and vegetarian gumbo; and a trio of fritters.

May seem minimal, but it fits the bill nicely for this little stand. And you know how much we love unique, can’t-get-it-anywhere-else Disney menu items!
