So, you’ve heard us mention Food Trucks quite a few times here on the DFB, and typically we’re referring to the four Disney Food Trucks most often found at Exposition Park in Downtown Disney’s West Side (though we’ve also had the chance to visit the Truckeria Rolling Taco Truck when it has appeared on occasion).

Well, today we’re visiting four more Food Trucks… but they’re not the ones you’re accustomed to seeing (like Fantasy Fare or Namaste Cafe), nor are they in the place you’re used to hearing them mentioned. Nope… we’re excited to bring you news of the Food Trucks that can currently be found on the weekends at the Causeway of Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resorts!

News! Menus and Details for the 2014 Fifth Annual Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic

We are so excited to share with you some big news today!

The Swan and Dolphin Resort at Walt Disney World has announced that it will hold its Fifth Annual Food and Wine Classic this Fall!

Coinciding with the 2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival, the two day event returns with some fan favorites and some brand new experiences!

Save the dates for Friday, October 31, and Saturday, November 1, 2014. Most of the Seminars will get underway at 4:30 p.m. and the Causeway Booths will be open from 5:30 until 9:00 p.m.

The two-day event will offer opportunities to learn while you play, with informative seminars covering facets of food and wine. Seminars are conducted by experts in each field and last about an hour — giving you plenty of time to join in on the Causeway fun afterwards!

Once the seminars conclude, the booths open and the tasting begins! Wines from all over the world and dishes in appetizer portions are available to sample from each of Swan and Dolphin’s nine restaurants. For the last few years, Celebrity Chef Todd English has also been on hand to interact with guests!

And don’t forget the music! As night falls, you’re treated to live music as you dine under the stars.

For 2014, guests can choose from ten different seminars. Choose from categories of Beer and Wine, Spirits and Mixology, or Pairing Experiences. The seminars take place on both days of the event. Beverage seminars all begin at 4:30 and last for approximately one hour; Pairing Experiences begin slightly earlier. Prices for the seminars vary.

A PEEP at a New Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Event…

Today’s a marshmallow day on DFB, apparently, so it’s time to give you a PEEP (AAAAAA HA HA HA!) at a new event at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin this Easter! :-D

PEEPs for Dayz

From April 16-23, enjoy a PEEPtastic celebration with free PEEPS brand marshmallow samples, PEEPS-inspired menu items, PEEPS décor, and Easter-themed activities.

At check-in, guests will receive PEEPS marshmallow chicks , and the fun continues with special appearances by the Easter Bunny (he’ll give you PEEPS, too!).

Sweet treats will follow with PEEPS-inspired menu items featured at several of the hotel’s restaurants. Look for s’mores made using PEEPS, a PEEPS inspired milkshake, and chocolate-dipped PEEPS!

Review: Modern Mixology Seminar at the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic

Nestled within the incredible Epcot Food and Wine Festival season is another highly anticipated food and wine extravaganza — the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic!

This two-day event gives you the option to enjoy the all-you-care-to-eat Causeway (review coming soon!), where you can stroll and taste samples from all of your favorite Swan and Dolphin restaurants (and meet some celebrity chefs, too). In addition, seminars are held each day covering a wide range of adult beverages. Interested? DFB has special rate codes for you for this year’s Classic! Review: Todd English’s bluezoo

Incredible seafood and stylized “under-the-sea” decor is the impression most people have of Todd English’s bluezoo at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort before they go…but there’s a lot more to it than that!

Celebrity Chef Todd English is the nameplate on many restaurants, but is best known for the original “Olives,” opened in Boston in 1989. Since then, he’s gone on to master the gamut of cuisine, from steakhouses to seafood to Italian and more, and even holds court over a restaurant on the Queen Mary II cruise ship.

But as he’s based in Boston, the Swan and Dolphin is lucky to have another incredible Chef overseeing bluezoo — Chef Chris Windus. A rising star in his own right, Chef Windus is still dedicated to the art of food. Through his personal blog and interaction in foodie circles, it’s clear to see that he’s a perfectionist and strives for the ideal plate from ingredient choice to preparation to service. Since I began this blog, it’s been a joy watching how he runs the bluezoo kitchen, and I was eager to head to the restaurant to experience it myself.
