Top Chef Finalist Howie “Bulldog” Kleinbert

Miami Chef and BBQ aficionado, Howie “Bulldog” Kleinbert of Top Chef fame, will host a summer barbecue at the Smokin’ Hot Barbecue Buffet on August 13th. Chef Kleinbert is the owner of Bulldog BBQ, which Bon Appetit magazine named one of the hottest new barbecue restaurants in the country.

The Bonnet Creek Q Crew will be serving up beef brisket, pulled pork, side dishes, and a Dutch oven dessert. Join the sizzlin’ hot fun Friday from 3-9pm, Saturday from noon – 9pm, and Sunday from Noon – 3pm. BBQ plates will cost $12-$14 (depending on selections). A Kids’ plate, for children 12 and under, is priced at $8.

Review: Bull and Bear Steakhouse at Waldorf Astoria Orlando

Orlando’s new Waldorf Astoria is a sister hotel to the legendary Waldorf in New York City. We were lucky enough to dine at the hotel’s steakhouse, The Bull and Bear, which is patterned after The Bull and Bear Steakhouse in New York’s Waldorf.

Atmosphere

The Bull and Bear feels like an exclusive club, and it’s not a place to go if all you want is a quick meal — this is where you go when you want a meal to treasure. The entryway is stacked with the best wines, the cozy dark woods and brass decor will immediately make you feel as though you’ve walked into a Rockefeller’s library, and attentive and smoothly-running service will ensure that you feel like the most important person in the room. Dining here means being pampered, and everyone deserves that once in a while.

These — four of them — were delivered to our room on a recent PR trip to the Waldorf Astoria Orlando. My husband and I just stared at them; we rarely eat pastry for breakfast, and there was no way we could down four of them. But there was warm cream cheese icing dripping off the rolls, so we had to at least split one.
