Here we go with another fun Countdown to Food and Wine post! The Epcot Food and Wine Festival will begin in just a couple of days, and I’ve decided to share my excitement by counting down to the Festival with a look at the International Marketplace booths that will be located around the World Showcase Lagoon!
For those who haven’t had the chance to go to the Festival, one of my favorite parts are the dozens of International Marketplaces — little booths, or kiosks, set up that represent a specific country or region. Each booth offers a short menu of tasting plates and drinks from the country or region represented. These tasting items cost anywhere from $2-$7, so they’re a great way to enjoy the Festival without breaking the bank.
Today, I’m going to highlight the representative menus from Belgium, Germany, and Greece!
Belgium
This year, Belgium is a brand new addition to the World Showcase Promenade! Exciting options on the menu will include a Belgian waffle, of course, and mussels! Here’s the full menu for Belgium:
- Steamed Mussels with Roasted Garlic Cream
- Freshly Baked Waffles with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream
- Stella Artois
- Godiva Chocolate Iced Coffee (photo below from Tables in Wonderland 2010 Food and Wine Festival Preview)
- Leffe
- Hoegaarden
I can’t wait to try that delicious waffle!
The Belgium booth will be located right between the France and Morocco pavilions, right next to the Spain booth.

Germany
I am SO excited about just about every menu item in Germany. Returning this year are the sausage on a pretzel roll, the spatzle gratin, and some wonderful beers and wines, along with some fantastic surprises like an apple dessert. Here is the full Germany booth menu:
- Spätzle Gratin with Ham and Cheese
- Nürnberger Sausage in a Pretzel Roll
- Apfel Strudel featuring Werther’s Original Karamell Sauce
- S.A. Prüm Essence Riesling
- Hooked Riesling
- Gunderloch Diva Spatlese Riesling
- Rudi Wiest Rhine River Riesling
- Radeberger Pilsner
- Hovels
- Altenmünster Octoberfest
Once again, the Germany booth will be found right in front of the Germany pavilion in Epcot! Time to celebrate Oktoberfest!

Greece
The Greece booth is returning with some old favorites as well! I didn’t try the spanakopita last year, so I’m looking forward to that. And I can highly recommend the Baklava! Here’s the full Greece menu:
- Greek Salad with Pita Bread
- Spanakopita
- Chicken Souvlaki with Tzatziki
- Baklava
- Boutari Moschofilero
- Enoteca Emery Athiri Mountain Slopes
- Boutari Naoussa
- Atlantis White
I imagine I’m also going to have to indulge in some of that Boutari Moschofilero!
You’ll find the Greece booth where it usually is, between the entrance to World Showcase and the Canada pavilion.

Stay tuned for more booth highlights as we continue to count down to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival!

Is Belgium going to be a permanent addition, or just for the Food and Wine Festival?
But, Belgium,…we need FRITES! 🙂 (Can’t wait. Your blog is making me hungry.)
Hm, well I may pass on Germany. German food never really does much for me.
I’m interested in the spanakopita. I’ve grown quite fond of spinach lately and the idea of a spinach and cheese pastry has me excited.
Now, it may be cliche to go for waffles in Belgium, but man how can you resist? I love steamed muscles in garlic, but as I’ve said before I can get that up here any day.
Marisa — Just for Food and Wine as far as I know 🙂
Brooke — I know. I’m sad no frites. 🙁
GG — Can’t wait to hear what you think of the Spanakopita. I’ve heard Food & Wine food panned because it’s not “authentic,” so I’m intrigued to hear your thinking on the subject.
