As the prices are reasonable, it’s also a budget-friendly place to grab a light dinner after a day in the parks. Evergreens serves sandwiches, wraps and burgers as well as salads, pizzas and snacks. The salads, wraps and sandwiches are quite good but the 8″ pizzas need improvement. (If you are in the mood for pizza I definitely would recommend Mangino’s Bistro instead.) Evergreens’ beverage selection consists of soda, beer, wine and frozen drinks.
I ordered a burger and fries. Many of the items on the menu are pre-made such as salads and wraps. The burgers are also pre-cooked so mine just had to be heated with the cheese I’d requested on top. It was originally flame broiled and tasted quite good. The fries came on a full sized plate, more than I could eat, enough for two or more to share, and tasted very good. They were done just right with a good mix of sizes: those huge fries you love to find, plenty of regular sized, and the little crunches my wife loves!
A nice idea would have been to grab a frozen margarita and enjoy it while sitting in the sun by the pool, but I had to run. A Dole Whip was calling my name at Captain Cook’s in the Polynesian Resort!
Evergreens is connected to an arcade which will keep the kids occupied for hours or at least until the tokens run out! They have all the usual video games as well as pool tables, and just out the side door they have remote control mini 4×4 trucks which the kids will love to drive. Kids can earn tickets and trade them in for prizes.
Evergreens is a good option when staying at Shades of Green if you are in the mood for lighter fare. The other meal options at the resort are Mangino’s Bistro, a full service Italian restaurant and the Garden Gallery dinner buffet.
Evergreens hours: M-Th 5-11 PM, F-Su 11:30 AM – 11 PM
Shades of Green is a deluxe resort owned by the U.S. Military and is exclusively for the use of U.S. military personnel and their friends and families. Army Morale Welfare and Recreation operates the resort as a place for the troops to take time away from their stressful careers.

Thanks Steve for the recon mission review! I have one friend who’s Dad is retired from the Army. They have invited us in the future to go with them so I hope we can take them up on that invite!
You’re welcome Christina, You will enjoy Shades. It’s a very nice and quiet resort, they have the biggest rooms on property. It’s close to the Poly (you can walk over to watch the fireworks on the beach) and they have their own bus transportation around property. The only thing is they don’t have the “Disney Decor” that you find at the Disney resorts.
Steve thanks for the info. My husband and I are both reserve Navy Chief’s in Northern CA. I just discovered your newsletter and love it. We go to DL every year and WDW every other year (EPCOT Food and Wine festival) and use our DVC points to stay at Kidani Village. We have been blessed to use the Military Salute tickets quite a few times. Thanks for the great newsletter and links to other sites, your work is greatly appreciated! Bravo Zulu
Thanks for the review. We ate at Evergreen’s after a round of golf a few years ago and enjoyed it very much. Mangino’s is nice, but Evergreen’s sports pub atmosphere and menu is a better fit for a post-round meal. The only problem is that they do not open for lunch Mon-Thu. Hoping that changes since the Palm/Magnolia courses don’t have a dining option of their own.
