Welcome Guest Reviewer James Armstrong! Today, we get to see the concierge’s food amenities at the Wilderness Lodge in Walt Disney World. Let’s head to the Old Faithful Club!
While recently staying at Wilderness Lodge we had the pleasure of staying on the Concierge level (also known as the Old Faithful Club).
This is an “upgrade” you can purchase for your room when staying at most of the deluxe Disney World hotels. As part of this upgrade (and additional cost), you benefit from a private concierge to help arrange tickets, childcare, transportation, and recreational activities.
You ALSO get some free food in the Club Lounge.
Atmosphere
To get to the concierge level guests need to use their room key in the elevator, which will activate access to the seventh floor.
From here, you’ll be afforded excellent views of both the Fire Rock Geiser and the lodge itself. It also has the Old Faithful Club Lounge!
Eats
As part of the Concierge experience, access to the Old Faithful Club Lounge is granted. Here, you’ll find all-you-care to eat snacks and drinks. This service will likely not replace all three meals, however it is a convenient stop for in-between snacks or light meals.
Continental Breakfast (7:00am – 10:30am*)
Breakfast was a nice variety of pastries, muffins, bagels, yogurt, fruit, and cereal. The menu was consistent throughout our visit.
The Cinnamon Rolls had tender dough and a nice sweet flavor.
There were plenty of Mini Muffins— Blueberry and Chocolate Chocolate Chip — to fill us up before we hit the parks.
There was also a variety of bagels and croissants to choose from.
The fruit selections consisted of Pineapple, Honeydew, Cantaloupe, and Watermelon.
Refreshments (11:30am – 4:00pm*)
Refreshments were small snacks. The selection was handy when needing to grab a handful of goodies on the way to our room. It was nothing of great substance to fill us up.
There were Chocolate Chip Cookies and Sugar Cookies, and regular and chocolate milk were available as well.
I really enjoyed the Gummy Bears; they had a more natural fruit flavor than I generally find. Not sure what kind they were but I would buy them by the quart!
The hit of our party were the House Made Chips coated with seasoned salt (I think) with Ranch Sauce.
Wine and Cheese Selections (5:00pm – 7:00pm*)
During these hours, we found more substantial snacks at the Lounge. If desired, you could probably get away with making this your dinner.
Wine and Cheese – Cold Items
We started with the Arugula Salad with black beans, feta, red onion, and orange slices.
There was also a cold cut Antipasti Platter with three different types of meats.
The namesake of this service was an assortment of various cheeses and a selection of wines (Merlot, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon).
For those who do not like wine, there was also a nicely stocked fridgewith beer and soda.
Wine and Cheese – Hot Items
There were BBQ Chicken Skewers that had somewhat of an odd texture, resembling a formed ground chicken. That being said, they were very good.
I also enjoyed the venison meatballs in sweet and sour sauce.
Wine and Cheese – Dessert
To give you a little dessert, there were PB&J Shooters, which consisted of a layer of creamy peanut butter and a layer of grape jelly accompanied by puff pastry. Perfect for making a sandwich!
Cordials and Dessert (8:00pm – 10:00pm*)
This service focused on sweets; the first night we arrived they had Peach Cobbler (very similar to what is served in Artist Point). The next night, they served a delicious, Warm Apple Crisp.
There were plenty of Brownies and Cookies (Sugar and Chocolate Chip).
The pièce de résistance — all-you-care to take Magic Cookie Bars — (aka crack bars in our house)!!!
During these hours, the staff also broke out some fine liqueurs.
And the wines from the previous service also made an appearance.
The fridge was stocked with these beverages.

This is a great overview of this concierge level lounge. If I could afford it, I would like to try this out!

Several of the nights we were there they served Salmon Chowder (or was it Stew?) and HOLY JEEBUS it was incredible! One really great thing is that if you like anything they serve you at OFC you can request the recipe and they will email it to you!
The breakfast, snacks, and dessert was pretty much always the same (except for the hot dessert option), but I would always get excited to find out what the “dinner” option was going to be during the wine and cheese hour! And we were totally able to make a full dinner out of it by making a couple trips – if only the plates were bigger 🙂 haha!

We have tried club level at a AKL, WL, and YC. This was our favorite.
The food was great (they had salmon chowder one night that was amazing.) The service was also above and beyond even the normal disney quality.
The manager told us that all the food comes from Artist Point.
It was very noticeable.
We like to relax on our vacations and enjoy downtime at the resort. So, this really was wonderful.
If you have breakfast for the family and drinks in the evening, the extra cost for those alone can be worth it.

We stayed at the WL club level earlier this year and LOVED it! We are officially hooked. Having 2 kids, the snacks and beverages were a huge convenience and it was really nice walking out of the elevator and being greeted every time questions of how our day has been, if we need anything, ect. The food was fabulous (the chips were amazing and we ate those every day!) as well as the magic bars.
The kids loved going back to the room every night after turn down service and getting their chocolates. The Disney service is fabulous, but at the club level, it was above and beyond. Anything we wanted, they granted. If something wasn’t in the lounge at that time, they gladly went and got it for us.

This was great experience for us bc we stay in the room to rest mid day. The only complaint is that they aren’t very gluten free friendly. Most cast members at concierge could care less and not helpful at all. I talked to the chefs and they were more than willing to provide replacements for us but the concierge staff was hesitant or refused to contact them. I would rethink it if dealing with allergies.

We have stayed at AKL Club level. Concierge encouraged us to come & check in as early as we wanted too, so that we could enjoy breakfast that morning of check in. We checked in at 8am (we moved over from POP) and they held our luggage at AKL until our room was ready. We put swim suits in a small bag and enjoyed the pool while waiting for our room.
The lounge staff were really wonderful at AKL. Many of the offerings are similar, including the wine and cordials. The mimosa’s were so good! In the evening they did serve items from Boma. I loved the espresso machine, and being able to get coffee, tea, soft drinks all day long. We ate all of our meals that day in the lounge. The items were plentiful and we didn’t find the need to eat at any restaurants that day.

My husband and I celebrated our belated honeymoon at the Wilderness Lodge and stayed in the club level honeymoon suite. Overall the resort is spectacular and we would absolutely stay there again.
I was disappointed in the club level staff, however. Upon stepping out of the elevator we were never greeted. The staff never looked up from their computer monitors even when there were no other guests around. I understand once or twice but we stayed for a week. We had to make the effort to be friendly. This was really surprising as the Disney staff elsewhere and in all the parks we visited went out of their way to greet us and smile.
The food in the club level lounge was very good and always refilled. I also enjoyed the turn down service and Mousekeeping always went the extra mile.

Where were the standard club level rooms located? Could you get one with a view right over the pool area?
