Would you like to celebrate the 4th of July weekend with Sheriff Woody and the gang from Toy Story? Well, that’s where Woody’s Roundup BBQ comes in!
This new event — taking place on July 4, 5, and 6, 2019 — will present games, crafts, BBQ, and Toy Story pals!
Disney’s Contemporary Resort will feature “a larger-than-life recreation playset of Woody’s Roundup—a rustic, wild western town. Once inside, pal around with Woody, Jessie, Bullseye and Buzz Lightyear. Jam along as Mr. Microphone plays some of Woody’s favorite tunes.”
Activities will include a trick roping demo, camp-style carnival games, and a Toy Story craft station. And a roaming balloon artist will create some of the Toy Story toys!
The night will end with a view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Contemporary’s Porte Cochere, featuring “Disney’s Celebrate America!—A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” on the 4th of July, and “Happily Ever After” on the 5th and 6th of July.
And on the Barbecue Buffet? Entrees will include Grilled Boneless Chicken Breasts and Thighs with Roasted Peach Coulis, Fire-roasted Vegetable Cake served with a Chipotle Succotash, Low and Slow Smoked Pork Ribs, and Barbecue Beef Brisket Carved.
BBQ-style sides will include fresh cornbread, sweet cream coleslaw, and vegetarian campfire chili (among other options). Desserts will include Salted Caramel Cookie Bars, Assorted Sliced Fresh Melon, Red, White and Blue Push Pops, and Cherry-Pie Shots. And the Kids’ options will feature items like hot dogs, Mickey Roni & Cheese, chicken fingers, and more!
Juices, milk, and an assortment of libations will also include premium adult beverage options for Guests 21 years of age and older.
Woody’s Roundup will take place from July 4-6, 2019, from 6:15 – 9:15 PM at the Fantasia Ballroom at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The price is $149 for adults and $99 for children ages 3 to 9 (tax and gratuity included). Note that “Tables for this event will be assigned and multiple parties will be seated together.” Interested guests may find more information and will soon be able to book the event by visiting the Walt Disney World website.

This sounds like a great event, but is much more suited to Ft. Wilderness or Wilderness Lodge. If it focused on Buzz and the aliens, the Contemporary would be appropriate.
Why can’t this be a year round event??? When will Disney ever do Toy Story character meal? Makes no sense to me how they added Toy Story Land but didn’t introduce a character meal. Fingers crossed that this becomes permanent!
