Disney’s flash color trends are becoming the stuff of legend! It all began in late-2017 with Rose Gold (remember all the rose gold treats?!), which was followed by Briar Rose Gold, Iridescent, Potion Purple, Dapper Yellow, Imagination Pink, Magic Mirror Metallic, and — now! — Arendelle Aqua. Guests have gone wild for each color trend, donning spirit jerseys and Minnie Ears, snapping on fanny packs, and munching on trendy treats.
So what does your favorite Disney color trend say about you?
We have some fun hypothesizing!
(Briar) Rose Gold
The original color trend is the trickiest personality to nail down — and not just because a lot of us got into it for the cupcakes! 😉 Rose gold is created by combining yellow gold and copper, thus creating the pinkish/bronzish color we all know and some of us love.
The connotation of pink is typically calm and optimistic, while metallics like gold, copper, and bronze equate to wealth and success. Fans of rose gold may be successful because of their optimism — expecting the best result and thus manifesting it. If you’re a Rose Gold, kudos on your positive outlook and determination to succeed! (Also you have the best cupcakes.)
Millennial Pink
This color trend came and went with a barrage of sweet pink snacks, apparel, and souvenirs. Playful pink is known for being intuitive and caring — thanks to that calm, optimistic personality, Millennial Pink fans!
But what about the millennial part of Millennial Pink? If we had to guess, we’d say it was Disney’s attempt to make pink relevant to guests who’ve perhaps grown past their days of pink-everything. If so, it worked. Millennial Pink was a trend for everyone! (Even the Ganachery in Disney Springs got in on the fun!)
Iridescent
This color trend was less a color and more an effect — but we were here for it! Iridescent didn’t stick around long, but for those who prefer understated color trends, this was the winning bandwagon! (Click here for more on the Iridescent trend!)
In Disney snack terms, Iridescent ended up being mostly blue with a shimmery tint, but true Iridescent is essentially variable color that may come from anywhere on the color wheel. Iridescent is fun and diverse, bringing luster to anything it touched — just like you, fans of Iridescent!
Potion Purple
Potion Purple is royal, powerful, dignified, and mysterious. It always gave us villainous vibes — but you don’t have to be cursing the world to be a Potion Purple fan. You’re simply made for glory and born for leadership!
Potion Purple was the color trend most likely to be turned into a drink — including this funky color-changing drink from Lamplight Lounge which perfectly captured the potion part of Potion Purple!
Dapper Yellow
This color trend was perhaps the most divisive, simply because of its brightness. (See why people had a love/hate relationship with Dapper Yellow here!) Dapper Yellow hasn’t taken over the World — but that’s okay because Dapper Yellow fans are cheerful, energetic, and always ready to stand out in a crowd!
Imagination Pink
Based loosely off of the Imagination Pavilion and its pink logo in Epcot, Imagination Pink evokes the same playful, curious and creative energy as a certain purple dragon! The collection is bold pink and not Figment’s familiar shade of bright lavender, but its color is still evocative of his whimsy and joyfulness, albeit slightly mischievous nature!
Magic Mirror Metallic
While Magic Mirror Metallic debuted at the same time as Imagination Pink, the two couldn’t be more different in terms of characteristics! Drawing its inspiration from the Snow White and the Seven Dwarf’s Evil Queen and her Magic Mirror, fans of Magic Mirror Metallic take themselves very seriously. Magic Mirror Metallic folks are also careful planners and know how to execute this super-chic look!
Arendelle Aqua
Finally, we’ve arrived at Arendelle Aqua, Disney’s latest flash color! This Frozen-inspired color evokes Elsa’s wintry powers in its soft, subtle hue of icy blue. Free spirits and peeps with a strong desire to express their individualism will gravitate towards the Arendelle Aqua color trend!
It’s impossible to say what the next flash color trend will be in the Disney Parks, but we’re having fun making guesses (and making room for yet another set of ears…)!

I would really love emerald green ears
All I’m saying is, if they do any shade of blue, I’m buying all the things!
Iridescent is my absolute favorite! I’m 29 now, but back in the day in high school, all of my jewelry for dances was iridescent so for me this felt rather nostalgic. It matches absolutely everything and is so beautiful when the light hits it just right. I will always cherish my iridescent Minnie ears ?
I had to get the Rose Gold spirit jersey…. but I am in love with the Purple Potion ears!
Maybe I’ll be a rebel, and mix-and-match!
Agree with Samantha. Whenever an emerald green or teal comes around, that will be my year!
I’d love for them to do regular black, silver, or Mickey pants red ears. I don’t wear Minnie ears because I’m more a Mickey girl, and would LOVE for them to start doing more in the way of Mickey instead of just Minnie all the time! I saw the 90th birthday ears and as much as I wanted them, I couldn’t justify spending that much money on Minnie ears when I’m not the girly-girl Minnie is. Hopefully Disney will eventually hear my (and many others, I’m sure) woe about the lack of MICKEY ears that aren’t just the plush kind or on a baseball cap.
I love the idea of Emerald Green. I still wish they would make short sleeved spirit jerseys, I live in Florida I really don’t have a need for a long sleeved. And i wish they were cheaper
All of this got me wondering why we didn’t see more in the way of the Dapper yellow merch?? Specifically ears – I would have bought a pair.
I love the purple potion! And imagination pink. I would definitely do something green.
