“Life is the bubbles” with the Mermaid Cupcake at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort’s Landscape of Flavors!
Swim along with us as we dive into the mezMERizing details of this sweet treat!
Now, we should start by saying this isn’t the first of its kind. You may recall the Mermaid Cupcake that was such a huge hit in Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Bakery, and the BoardWalk Bakery followed suit a while after with its own version. But Landscape of Flavors is certainly keeping up the Insta-worthy Mermaid Cupcake trend. Even better, it also offers a great mix of tropical flavors!
This version is topped with Coconut Buttercream (a huge hit with our taste-tester), a White Chocolate Mermaid Tail, Candy Pearls and EDIBLE GLITTER that looks like sand! Edible glitter continues trending bigtime at Disney, because we also spotted SPARKLE RAINBOW GLITTER this week at the new Ramone’s Serv-ice Slushie Station in Disneyland!
The cupcake’s colors really make a splash! They’re a total nod to Ariel since they happen to be the colors of her hair, shells, and fin!
So, what’s inside this cupcake, you ask? And is it worth the blue lips I’m likely going to sport after stuffing my face? Well, our taste tester sure thought so!
The cupcake is a Vanilla Base with a Pineapple Filling. Our reporter said her favorite part was the mix of tropical tastes of the pineapple with the coconut buttercream, and she felt like the cupcake was really fresh and delicious.
But… make sure your kiddos know about and are okay with the flavor combo before purchasing, because they’ll probably be drawn in by the cute factor immediately upon seeing it!
We cannot wait to easily be able to stop for treats like these as we explore the new Disney Skyliner Gondola System. Disney’s Art of Animation is one of four resorts that we will be able to access while riding, which means we should probably create a Skyliner cupcake crawl… because we will likely ride just so we can easily stop at resorts to try new treats like this one! How about you?
Our taste buds mer–maid for this cupcake…what do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
