As we look forward to the 2019 Epcot Food and Wine Festival (taking place from August 29 – November 23, 2019), we are sharing all the details with you for happenings like the Festival’s Special Events, family-friendly fun like the Candy Sushi class, and the latest on the Eat to the Beat Concert Series lineup.
Something unique in regards to this fall’s Festival is how it will be affected by the overarching transformation of Epcot and construction for future experiences.
For instance, Disney has announced that the former Wonders of Life Pavilion — which previously served as the Festival Center — is in the process of becoming a new and innovative Play Pavilion. Which, while exciting news, brought questions regarding what will happen to the several Epcot Food and Wine Festival events which typically took place in the Festival Center.
Today, Disney has shed a little more light on the topic in regards to one Festival offering — The Chocolate Experience: From Bean to the Bar hosted by Ghirardelli Chocolate Company. For the first time in 2019, Bean to the Bar will be presented at the entrance of the Harvest Theater in The Land pavilion.
Disney also shares that “Ghirardelli will whip up chocolate sundae treats that will be available for purchase at Sunshine Seasons.”
As previously revealed, other Festival events such as Culinary Demonstrations and Beverage Seminars will take place in the World ShowPlace Events Pavilion (located between United Kingdom and Canada) which has long served as the home to the Festival’s Party for the Senses.
So even while the traditional “Festival Center” and its offerings will be more widespread in regards to physical hosting locations, there’s clearly still plenty of space around the park to take in everything the 2019 Epcot Food and Wine Festival has to offer!

I like the idea of the demonstrations and seminars moving to the Showplace Events Pavilion as it is more central to the World Showcase and will eliminate some of the ‘running to and from’ the Festival Center that we have done in previous years. And while The Wonders of Life Pavilion was one of our favorites and I will ALWAYS miss it, I am glad to see it turning into a year round active pavilion again. (Now if Innoventions East and West can just follow suit!!??)
