While we already told you it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Disney World now that Hollywood Studios has started putting up its Christmas decorations, we never dreamed we’d be caught in a wintery flurry in October!
But if you were at Hollywood Studios today, you too might’ve seen the hilarity than ensued when some of the Sunset Seasons Greetings snow machines malfunctioned — spreading their snowflakes all over the place! If you weren’t there, allow us to show you the aftermath!
All signs pointed to something being not-quite-right about the machines that are used to create the falling snowflake-like effect for Hollywood Studios’ holiday celebration Sunshine Seasons Greetings when guests could visibly see the soap bubble fluid oozing down the side of the building — that’s not normal!
Then the frothy snow-like mixture actually started to accumulate on the sidewalk below! Some guests began enjoying an impromptu foam party right on Sunset Boulevard! Hey, we don’t remember this event being listed on the Hollywood Studios’ times guide!
But gradually there was so much snoap (snow-soap!) residue on the ground, some nearby Cast Members had to act quickly and set up some safety cones — after all, this is soap we’re talking about and this stuff’s SLIPPERY!
At one point the frothy flurry showed no signs of slowing, so Cast Members formed a human barrier to keep unsuspecting guests from taking a spill on the snoap drifts!
Finally, it appeared the malfunctions snow machines were shut off, and Cast Members quickly assembled to sweep away with piles of foamy snow that had amassed. Luckily, brooms were sufficient and no plows or snow shovels were deployed!
And once the soap mixture was tidied up and the sidewalk was rinsed off, it was sparklingly clean!
We’re keeping our fingers crossed that Disney will have its snow machines working in time for Hollywood Studios’ first Sunset Seasons Greetings on November 8th. But if not, you can always catch the snow flurries on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party — check out our Ultimate Guide here!

I was in WDW back in December 1993 and it legitimately snowed for like 5 mins. It was so amazing. We joked that we brought the snow with us that we left up in the northeast. 😊
