It’s November 8th, everybody! And, you know what that means — ALL the Christmas stuff in Disney World!
And, while we’re taking you on a wild journey today to Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom, we’re also traveling to the safari for a festive time! Animal Kingdom is seeing amazing new Merry Menagerie puppets, DinoLand U.S.A. lights, gorgeous animal lanterns, and even some festive garlands in Pandora! And, tonight, the Tree of Life Awakenings will kick off for the holidays! Animal Kingdom is REALLY getting in the festive spirit and pulling out all the (sleigh) stops, and we’re coming at you LIVE with everything you can expect this year!
We will be updating this post LIVE throughout the day so keep checking back for all the deets on entertainment, treats, and more!
Put on your best trekking boots and your fave holiday merch because we’re checking out all the incredible new AND returning events in Animal Kingdom for Christmas time! To celebrate the “magic of the holidays,” you can take a look at the event guide where you’ll find the locations for the shopping, eats, and entertainment popping up around the park.
But, before you do ANYTHING, make sure to check out the beautiful Merry Menagerie mural and strike a pose! (And, don’t forget to tag us as you follow along with this We’re Live!)
Speaking of Merry Menagerie… the puppets have ARRIVED (and our jaws have dropped). While we have been able to catch a sneak peek in footage online from Imagineers, the puppets are more life-like and lovable than we could have ever imagined! Seriously, don’t you just want to cuddle that polar bear?!
The Anandapur Ice Cream Truck is swirling up a NEW Peppermint Soft-Serve that’s seriously putting us in the holiday spirit!
Swirl on over to our Peppermint Soft-Serve review here!
And speaking of peppermint…the Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwich from Dino-Bite Snacks is one treat you’ve gotta get.
See why you’ve gotta get the Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwich by seein’ our review here!
And we noticed something strange with a treat that we spotted earlier in the day…
It suddenly went MISSING!
Get the FULL Pumpkin Spice Pretzel story here.
And Animal Kingdom looked beautiful tonight with all the NEW holiday decor.
And the holiday version of Tree of Life Awakenings really boosted our holiday spirit! We will have more on this new show soon, so be on the lookout.
Keep following along with us as we’ll keep updating this page with MORE sights to see and treats to eat in Animal Kingdom!

Any way of knowing what can be purchased with a snack credit with Disney Dining Plan at Festival of the Holidays?
Barbara, as a general rule, all food items and non-alcoholic drink items at Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays are DDP snack credit eligible. We will note this when the menus come out!
Thank you
Is there a printable PDF for the holiday food at AK?
Betty, there is not. I’ll mention it to the team!
Thanks,Sarah! With limited time on a trip and so many food options in a large park, it is helpful (albeit a bit crazy!) to preplan our snacks!
