The Festival Cart this year is bringing a Shredded Beef and Potato Tamale and the Sweet Guava and Cheese Empanada to the party!

Here he is, all wrapped up like a beautiful tamale Christmas present! Boy — we’d love to see a pile of these underneath our Christmas tree this year!

For us, the masa had the perfect tamale texture. It was warm and moist, but firm enough to hold together.

And the shredded beef and potatoes were tossed in a tasty salsa roja which had just a slight kick to it. Initially, we didn’t get any heat from it, but the spice crept up fast!
We loved Shredded Beef and Potato Tamale and would definitely get this again. It’s a perfect quick bite that fills you up! Our only complaint was that we wish it had a bit more filling!

Looks good! BTW…the proper singular form of tamales is “tamal”. There is really no such word as “tamale”
