Step aside egg nog & hot cocoa!
Disney is helping us get into the holiday spirit with a recipe for House-Made Horchata.
Horchata is a drink made from rice with its foundation in Spanish and Latin American cultures. You can find the House-Made Horchata at Merry Mashups for the 2019 Festival of Holidays in Disney California Adventure!
The recipe is non-alcoholic and serves 1 to 2.

Any idea if the rice is cooked, or do you use uncooked?
Tabitha, you use uncooked and soak it for 8+ hours to soften it.
Hi everybody!!
I’m from Barcelona (Spain), located just a few hours from Valencia. Valencia is the original land from the famous”Horchata”. I just want to leave clear one point about the main ingredient. In the original recipe we don’t find rice. Horchata artisans use a small tuber called “Chufa”. I understand that “Chufa” is a rare ingredient and probably isn’t easy to find in some countries. But, believe me, the taste and flavour from a Horchata made with “Chufa” don’t resist any comparison with others ingredients or recipes.
Congratulations for your site and your Disney passion!!
