Hey, everybody! It’s time for another edition of What’s New at the Disneyland Resort!
Join us for a magical journey throughout the Disneyland parks, Downtown Disney, and the Disneyland Resort hotels to see what new construction, food, and merchandise we can spot!
So much has happened since our last visit, so let’s jump right in!
Construction Update at Disneyland Resort
Disneyland’s Tomorrowland is looking ultra-futuristic these days with its new mural! You’ll see it over by the Star Tours building! Tomorrowland is also getting a new entryway soon which will feature a widened walkway, some more “Space Age” spires, and colorful planters too!
Over at Disney California Adventure, we checked in on the progress of the new Avengers Campus. It looks like construction is still well underway on the new Marvel-themed land which isn’t slated to open until sometime in 2021!
Over at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa we saw a coming soon sign for the new Tenaya Stone Spa! This new spa is set to open Spring 2020!
And also at Disney’s Grand Californian, we saw construction walls up around the Craftsman Bar and Grill. The new bar just opened back in July of 2019, so it’ll be interesting to see what they’re doing to the place!
Food Update at Disneyland Resort
One of our favorite Disney princess cupcakes has returned! We spotted our beloved Belle Cupcake for $5.99 at Candy Palace! This vanilla cake is topped with buttercream, a rim of yellow sprinkles (instead of white, like its predecessor!), and a red rose icing design!
Not to be outdone, Belle’s father Maurice had been busy cooking up some tasty concoctions of his own — in donut form!
Check out the new selection of Beauty and the Beast-inspired donuts the menu at Maurice’s Treats now features! There are Maurice’s Pieces (which are like donut holes), Churro Gears, and Cogsworth Cakes!
We tried the inventor’s Churro Gear for $5.49 and it was DELICIOUS! If you love Disneyland’s churros, you should definitely pick one of these guys up!
Meanwhile, over in Adventureland, we noticed some new Tiki Bowls had flown into the Tropical Hideaway!
The Tiki Bowls cost $14 each and include your choice of Dole Whip soft serve along with a free spork! We can’t think of a more enjoyable way to watch the birds sing words and the flowers croon in The Enchanted Tiki Room than with one of these little cuties!
Meanwhile, at Disney California Adventure’s Trolley Treats we spotted this adorable new Krispy Treat masquerading as a Mickey Donut! It’s a delicious, peanut butter filled Mickey Donut Krispy Treat you can get for $5.99!
Alfresco Tasting Terrace
We also sipped on the new AP-exclusive Sunshine Plaza cocktails on the now Annual Passholder-exclusive Alfresco Tasting Terrace! The new drinks are inspired by some Disney California Adventure’s past attractions!
There’s also the secret menu Nutmeg cocktail inspired by one of the Disneyland cats! Here’s a pic of Nutmeg himself doing his thang!
Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream
It’s been a minute since we were last at Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream, so we had to swing by!
And we stumbled upon the new Hard Float! It’s totally customizable with your choice of either a vanilla or chocolate ice cream bar in hard root beer, hard orange soda, or Guinness beer for $11.50!
Cozy Cone Motel
We also found out about a new cone at the Cozy Cone Motel — you know, those delicious bready vessels filled with delicious items like mac and cheese or chili? The new Finish Line Cone features chicken, black bean and hominy stew topped with onions, cilantro, fried tortilla strips, and a lime wedge!
Asian Street Eats
We couldn’t wait to check out Asian Street Eats which is now finally open in Downtown Disney! The new restaurant is fronted by season 3 Top Chef winner Chef Hung Huynh!
The entrées at Asian Street Eats include a tasty variety of mixed bowls or scallion pancake wraps along with a side offering of yummy potstickers! Prices range from $7.95 to $9.95. Here’s what the delicious Grilled Chicken Mixed Bowl looks like!
We also tried one of the new wraps — this one’s the Braised Beef Short Rib Scallion Pancake Wrap! Asian Street Eats menu was super tasty — made all the tastier with their wide selection of delicious sauces!
Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar
Next, we hula-ed our way over to Trader Sam’s to try the new secret menu Liquid Luau for $11.50!
The super-pretty drink includes pineapple juice, lemon juice, passion fruit syrup, Plantation OFTD Overproof Rum, and Canton Ginger Liqueur, topped with a Coruba Dark Rum floater! Plus it’s garnished with a gorgeous edible flower!
While we were hanging out at Trader Sam’s, we inquired about the “Baby Yoda drink” — and they made us one! The green-colored drink comes with two edible cherry “eyes” on a skewer, two lime wedges for “ears,” and a little napkin tie at the bottom to represent Baby Yoda’s outfit.
Yup, dreams really do come true at Disneyland it seems!
