With the recent Coronavirus outbreak, Disney Parks have been taking additional precautions to protect guests, cast, and crew members.
And, while we’ve seen park closures and Disney Cruise Line rescheduling, we spotted another announcement pertaining to the outbreak.
Due to the Coronavirus exposure, The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco will be closing temporarily.
The museum has stated: “Given the continued spread of COVID-19 in the local area, and based on Mayor London Breed’s guidance from March 6, The Walt Disney Family Museum has decided to remain closed to undertake extensive due diligence efforts — in consultation with experienced professionals — regarding potential secondary exposure involving staff and volunteers.”
They are waiting to reopen until they receive clearance from medical professionals, or have waited two weeks from the time of closure. With these precautions in mind, the museum is projected to reopen on March 20th. All programs at The Walt Disney Family Museum during the two-week time period will be canceled or rescheduled for another date. We will keep updating you with more info about the museum and the Coronavirus here at DFB!

Update: According to KRON4, an employee at the museum tested positive for Coronavirus. They are currently quarantined at home and recovering. As advised by health officials, they will not be returning to work until they are cleared. While the museum is closed until March 20th, it will be undergoing cleaning and sanitation procedures along with the installation of sanitation stations throughout exhibits.
