Three cheers for Chef José Andrés!
We love hearing about people stepping up to help others during these difficult times. And celebrity chef, José Andrés, the owner of Jaleo and Pepe in Disney Springs, has done just that! He has temporarily converted several of his locations into community kitchens to assist those in need of affordable meals. But he’s going a step further to thank doctors and nurses for their hard work!
Chef José Andrés is familiar with the difficulties faced by healthcare workers — both of his parents and members of his extended family worked him the healthcare field.
In an effort to thank those currently on the front lines of the medical industry, the chef announced that he will offer free meals to all active doctors and nurses when his restaurants reopen!
Chef Andrés is known for being actively involved in humanitarian work. He formed the nonprofit World Central Kitchen in 2010 to provide food aid following Haiti’s devastating earthquake. The organization has provided food following several other natural disasters and is assisting with current efforts as well. Shoutout to José Andrés for going the extra mile to help those in need!

This is an awesome gesture and I hope he keeps to his word. I’ve been wanting to eat at Jaleo!
Another large group of people who are on the front line are respiratory technicians, xray technicians, ultrasonographers…and just as important, housekeeping. All employees of a hospital work as one.
It is very generous of the restaurant give the free meals. And very much appreciated no matter the position in the hospital. Thank you…
