It’s been a busy week with Disney Parks closure updates! Shanghai Disneyland will begin its phased reopening on May 11, 2020 with limited entertainment and safety precautions. Walt Disney World also announced that Disney Springs will begin reopening limited third party locations on May 20, 2020.
However, we also reported earlier that Walt Disney World is no longer accepting resort hotel reservations before July 1, 2020. And now, more Disney events and dining are suddenly unavailable for booking through June.
On Disney’s website, Magic Kingdom’s Villains After Hours now shows that all dates in June are “No Longer Available.”
Villains After Hours is a special-ticketed event that takes places on certain nights, and allows a limited number of guests to enjoy villain-themed entertainment and treats, in addition to shorter lines at the most popular attractions in the Magic Kingdom.
But that’s not the only event that seems to have been cancelled next month. Upon investigation, we were no longer able to book Disney World dessert parties, Droid Depot and Savi’s in Galaxy’s Edge, and more special events until July 1st.
We also aren’t currently able to book ANY dining reservations (except for Disney Springs restaurants) in Disney World through June.
Disney still lists their theme parks and resorts as closed “until further notice,” and has started cancelling reservations through the end of May.
We’ll be keeping you updated on the latest developments in the Disney theme park closures as they become available.

Yeah, events are rapidly confirming what we already figured. We’d planned to go in July, but never made reservations. (Because being busy! Besides, it’s usually pretty easy to get into SSR.) Then when the virus closure hit, we held off, but began to think vacation was a goner. This pretty well confirms it, boo-hoo. Thanks for the information.

Although things are looking grim, it doesn’t necessarily mean the parks won’t open in June. They will only be able to operate at limited capacity. Based on FP availability it seems they already have too many people booked for June. It could just be they dont want more reservations

We changed our June 20-July 3 vacation for our son’s graduation to Nov.14-27 and are hoping and praying for a much better outcome then. A little bummed but still excited because so much of all the high school seniors events have been scrapped.

So do you thinking planning for late July would be a better bet that parks would be open? Thinking of planning for late July early August…
