There’s a special event over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort today!
You might have heard of Duffy the Disney Bear and his friends; they’re SUPER popular elsewhere in the world. Duffy’s newest friend is a turtle named ‘Olu Mel and he’s cute as can be. Today, ‘Olu Mel has taken over Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort with merch AND treats! Check it out!
Let’s start by taking a look at ‘Olu Mel’s story so that you know a little bit more about this friendly little guy. Did you know that ‘Olu is from a cove and the master of happy ukulele tunes? Maybe that’s why he fits in at the Polynesian so well!
To celebrate ‘Olu, the Polynesian has two NEW treats inspired by the sweet guy. The first is the ‘Olu Mel Cupcake made with chocolate cake and coconut mousse.
You can snag this treat for $5.99 at Captain Cook’s!

Over at Pineapple Lanai, you can pick up the ‘Olu Mel Soft Serve, a big heaping pile of Dole Whip Lime with some adorable toppings.
This treat will run you $4.99.

After you’ve chowed down on ‘Olu-inspired eats, you can head over to BouTiki to load up on some limited-time ‘Olu merch. And it looks like it might be high demand later!
There was even a Cast Member stationed near the merch table to play some ukulele tunes.

My daughter collects Duffy and friends, we are only missing Olu Mel. Can he still be found at the Polynesian or has that ended? We are going in November and would love to get her one.
Thanks!

Deborah, we are still seeing Olu Mel at Poly!
Deborah P says
Sarah, thank you so much! My daughter prefers to pick them out herself because she swears each one is different. Now I have to figure out how to fit a visit to Poly in our plans.

Deborah, you’re welcome. I hope they’ll still have them on hand in November when you go. You could pop over to the Poly from Magic Kingdom or TTC (hopefully the Monorail will be running at the Resort by then). Maybe grab a Dole Whip or a cupcake from Capt. Cook’s (or both!) to make an outing of it. 🙂 Also, if you’d like to reach out closer to your trip to reconfirm ‘Olu Mel is still available, feel free!

Sarah, thank you so much – I will definitely reach out at the beginning of November.
