We’ve seen various updates regarding Disneyland Resort recently, but no official release of theme park reopening guidelines from California.

Despite the lack of formal guidance from the state, Disney appears to be preparing for an eventual reopening with the installation of more health and safety signs, and, now, agreements with certain unions.

According to The Orange County Register, Disneyland has reached “return to work agreements” with 11 unions representing employees at the resort. Disney officials have said that these agreements will allow the Disneyland Resort theme parks to “responsibly bring back staff” with a variety of health and safety measures in place “as soon as possible.”

According to Disney officials, an agreement has been reached with Workers United Local 50, the second largest union representing employees at Disneyland. This agreement will allow for the return of many food and beverage Cast Members. Agreements have also been reached with 10 other unions, including “Master Services Council, Independent Employee Services Association, Craft Maintenance Council, and International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.”

Currently, Disneyland has been canceling hotel reservations through October 24th and an official reopening date is not yet known. Governor Newsom recently sent a team to Disney World to review the safety measures there, and at other parks in Florida, to help inform the California theme park reopening guidelines. Newsom has said his team will also be visiting “larger theme parks” this week.
