A number of things have changed at Disney World since the park closures earlier this year.
One thing that’s been rather different has been transportation. Disney buses have a new loading and seating procedure, there are dividers and other safety measures in place in the Monorails, and the EPCOT monorail is not available. The Friendship Boats that take guests at certain resorts to and from EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are also not available at the moment…but they will be soon!
If you’re staying at Disney’s Beach Club Villas or a number of other resorts in the area, one fantastic benefit is having the ability to hop on the Friendship Boats to get to EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Right now, however, that service is not available.
We had seen the Friendship Boats testing last week, at which point we were told the boats would reopen soon, and now we’ve got an official date!
According to the Disney website, the Friendship Boats are set to resume on November 1st! Specifically, the Disney transportation website notes that watercraft service to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will resume on November 1st and serve Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, Disney’s Beach Club Villas, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels.
When you look at the Beach Club page, for example, it notes that watercraft transportation will be available starting November 1st from this resort to EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas. The pages for the other hotels note similar details.
We will keep an eye out for more updates and let you know what we find. But, if you are staying at one of those Resort hotels with Friendship Boat service, it looks like this service should be back up and running for you to take advantage of very soon!
