Animal Kingdom Lodge is a truly unique resort.
From the safari animals right outside the windows, to the fantastic restaurants, this is a breathtaking resort. We stopped by today to check out the latest updates, so let’s get started!
Animal Kingdom Lodge Food Update
We began our visit with a stop at Sanaa. Although the hours are posted and seem straightforward, a Cast Member explained that the Sanaa Lounge hours are tricky. Guests can come to the lounge in between 2PM-5PM to grab drinks and limited food to-go from the bar.
There are only two tables available to sit at in the lounge, so if those are full, guests must order to-go.
When the restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the lounge area is used for reservations only. If there are openings, guests can join the walk-up waitlist. The lounge will then reopen to guests for drinks until 11PM after guests with dinner reservations leave.
If you have any questions about the Sanaa Lounge hours on your visit, a Cast Member will be more than happy to help.
Maji Pool Bar
Over by the pool, the Maji Pool Bar menu looked the same as our last visit. However, we were able to order a drink not listed on the menu!
We decided to order the Mt. Kilimatira which is a drink offered over in the Victoria Falls Lounge in Jambo House. This location is currently closed and we were really missing this drink! Luckily, the Maji Pool Bar had the ingredients and the bartender knew how to make the drink so we were able to order it!
If you are craving a drink that is not listed on the menu, ask your bartender because they just may be able to make it for you.
Animal Kingdom Lodge Merchandise Update
Over in the gift shop Johari Treasures, we spotted a few familiar items. First of all, a lot of Disney’s new holiday merchandise has made its way here! We even spotted the holiday Disney Vacation Club T-Shirt!
This location also serves the beloved Zebra Domes! These treats are made with Amarula Cream Liquor mousse with layers of white chocolate and then drizzled in chocolate. The base is a thin layer of cake! The regular domes are in the shop’s cooler.
And the gluten-free zebra domes can be found in the freezer! We are SO glad there is still a place to grab these iconic treats!
And that wraps up our visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge! We spotted some new merchandise and got confirmation on the hours for the Sanaa Lounge, so it was a pretty successful day! We will continue to check out the Disney resorts looking for the latest updates, so stay tuned.
