2020 has been a year, and we are all VERY ready to celebrate the end of it and welcome in 2021!
And even if you can’t get to Disney World for New Year’s Eve (which is going to be a LOT different this year anyway), you can bring Disney World to your home to celebrate in your own special way. And we’ve got some tips on how you can do that!
Watch Happily Ever After At Home
One of the most fun ways to celebrate the end of the year is with fireworks! So why not celebrate 2020 with the Happily Ever After fireworks spectacular, which you can watch FROM YOUR COUCH on YouTube.
Drink Champagne From Your Favorite Disney Mug
You don’t have to drink champagne out of a boring old glass — instead, drink it out of your favorite Disney mug or glass! We’re sure you have a stash of Disney mugs to choose from because we certainly do!
Pick a mug, any Disney mug, whether it be one celebrating your love for Disney villains, Disney Princesses, your favorite attraction, or Mickey and Minnie, it’s bound to make you smile as you raise it to toast the New Year.
Recreate Your Favorite Park Recipes
No New Year’s Eve is complete without snacks! So find your inner Remy and get to cooking! We’ve posted plenty of recipes for you to choose from here at DFB, so you should be able to find all your favorites!
If you need a few suggestions, some of our favorite recipes are those for Dole Whip, Churros, Baby Yoda’s Blue Milk Macarons, Totchos, and Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup. These are all perfect for a stay-at-home New Year’s Eve party!
Zoom New Year’s Eve Party
If you can’t spend New Year’s Eve with your family and friends, host a virtual party, but with one requirement — everyone has to wear Mickey hats and Minnie ears! Or maybe even take it a step further and make everyone wear their favorite Disney clothes, too!
And don’t forget the music — make a Disney playlist that makes you feel like you’re bringing the parks into your house and your virtual party! Hakuna Matata!
GroupWatch Your Favorite Disney Movies
Here’s the easiest way to bring Disney to your home on New Year’s Eve — set up a GroupWatch party on Disney+ to watch all your favorite movies with your family and friends, no matter where they are!
To use the service, select the movie you want to watch on Disney+ and go to its details page. Click on the Group Watch icon — you can then send an invite to up to six other Disney+ subscribers so that the movie plays simultaneously for everyone!
While watching, you can react with emojis or pause the title. So now everyone can cry during Soul at the same time!
Play Virtual Disney Trivia
We don’t know about you, but we LOVE Disney trivia. It’s so much fun! So why not host a virtual Disney trivia session on New Year’s Eve? You can get ideas for questions online (just Google “Disney Trivia” for some ideas) or make up your own!
To make it extra fun, have everyone put in a certain amount of money for a Disney gift card that will go to the winner or winning team!
Virtual Disney Karaoke
We’re total Disney fans here, therefore we know ALL the Disney songs. So why not sing them via karaoke? It’s so easy to find instrumental tracks for Disney songs, and it could be a lot of fun to sing your favorites with your friends and family via Zoom.
You don’t even need a karaoke machine — just play the track and sing! So who’s ready to duet on “A Whole New World?”
Make Disney-Themed Cocktails
What’s NYE without a few drinks? We’re talking cocktails and mocktails. And we’ve got some recipes for those, too! From Villains-inspired mocktails to an Orange Bird-inspired drink to an Elderflower cocktail, pick one that sounds good and become a Mixologist!
Or if you have your own recipes you want to whip up, add a Disney glow cube (we know you’ve got a collection of them — we ALL do) to make each cocktail a Disney party in each glass (or mug).
So there are some ideas to ring in the New Year in true Disney style. And from everyone here at DFB, we hope you have a very Happy New Year! 2021 is FINALLY here!! 🎉
