Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
And, we’ve got plenty of updates to share with you! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s jump right on in!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Entertainment Update
Slowly, but surely, Christmas has started to make its way out of Disney’s Animal Kingdom as the holiday season ends. While there are a few lingering decorations in the park (like the giant tree), the music has returned back to its regularly scheduled park soundtrack!
As the Christmas decorations have started to disappear, brand new photo-ops have made their way into the park instead! At the entrance to the Animal Kingdom, you can pose with Russell, Dug, and Kevin (one of our favorite trios) with the Up PhotoPass Frame.
You might have your adventures planned for Asia or Pandora for the day, but you can remember how much you love exploring Disney’s Animal Kingdom with this new photo-op. A PhotoPass photographer is standing nearby to take the perfect photo for your scrapbooks too!
But, that’s not the only photo-op spot that’s different in Disney’s Animal Kingdom right now!
During the holidays, the Merry Menagerie Photo Wall was a vibrant and festive place to snap a few pictures with your friends and family. Now, though, it’s been returned back to the Lion King Photo Wall instead…
…with animals making their way across the Pride Lands with the gorgeous African sunset in the background.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Merchandise Update
Discovery Trading Co.
During those days you’re feeling grumpy because you miss the parks, you can accessorize with the Tinker Bell Popsocket over in the Discovery Trading Co. gift shop for $14.99.
The sea may call out to Moana, but the Disney Parks call out to us! And, you can channel your inner adventurer with the new-to-us Moana Pen that features the warrior’s amazing outfit…
…and long, flowing hair for $12.99!
Whether you’re a cat person or a dog person, you’re still going to adore the cutest Disney Cats and Dogs Bucket Hat on the shelves at Riverside Depot!
The hat is perfect for keeping your hairdo dry during Florida’s rainy weather, all with characters like Cheshire Cat, Lady, the Aristocats, and more for $29.99.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Food Update
Discovery Trading Center
Along with all the other Lion King gummies you can find in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you can get chowing down on the new-to-us Gummi Centipedes at the Discovery Trading Center too!
And, we promise these grubs are more appetizing than the ones Timon and Pumbaa eat!
Over at the Popcorn Stands, we noticed that the Green Jingle Sipper was still hanging out for the beginning of January.
If you plan on heading to the Nomad Lounge, you might want to hurry first thing in the morning or wait until later in the day! A Cast Member told us that the line often gets long right when the park opens, since many people are waiting to put their names on the reservation list.
As you’re exploring Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you can stop for a bite to eat at Tamu Tamu since their breakfast items are still sticking around! You can find eats like the Colossal Mickey Cinnamon Roll, Croissants, Biscuits, and more there (and they all sound amazing)!
Anandapur Ice Cream Truck
Now that Disney has distanced queues and a few pockets of crowds here and there, the parks are doing their best to direct people to the correct lines. And, the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck has added a few elephant and tiger papers to help signal the pick-up window at the food truck!
Well, that’s all for this What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! We’ll catch you next time for more updates. And, if you have any questions about how your upcoming Disney vacation might look different, let us know so we have help you find the answers!
