For those of us who fancy ourselves a Monet-in-the-making, being able to paint at a Disney World art festival sounds super fun!
That’s why we’ve been so excited about the return of the Paint-by-Number murals at EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts this year, which is back with a socially distant twist.
Last year, we were able to paint our way through the Paint-by-Number murals at Expression Section in Future World! However, seeing as the whole concept of this interactive arts attraction requires pretty close proximity between guests, we were curious to see how Disney would do it this year!
So…we paid a visit to the Paint-by-Number mural to find out!
The general format is the same this year, with sections denoted by numbered color-markers.
The main difference, to ensure people remain socially distant, is that Disney is sectioning off every other number, and calling up guests by rotating odds and evens to spread them out!
This way, painters are always safely distanced from one another at all times, while still engaging in a fun, communal activity!
To get in on the artistic action, head to Expression Section, and pick up one color of paint of your choice!
And one brush!
You get five squares to fill in.
Slowly but surely, square by square, the communal mural fills in and forms a magical Disney painting!
When you’re done, you throw away your brush and paint container, and you get a bookmark of what the completed painting will look like! A masterpiece!
As the Festival of the Arts continues through February 22, EPCOT will swap in new murals, depending on how fast they’re filled in.
We can’t wait to see this thing in its fully colored beauty! And the rest of the festival murals this year!
